Have a Holly Jolly Christmas!!

And...The Christmas Giddy-ness has hit!!

It's the Eve of Christmas Eve...Last night, I kept waking up and having trouble falling back asleep. I go through it every year. The excitement starts bubbling up inside me and my head is just swirling with thoughts of food and gifts and family and friends and music. It is, indeed, the most wonderful time of the year!

But, there's still a little paranoia mingling in there with all the joy and cheer. A fear of falling ill (especially after Chris had the flu on the weekend), and the dread of rain on Christmas Eve (how can it be -17 today, and + 3 tomorrow?!) I know most of the gang around here are praying for rain, as any great snowfall accumulation means they have to go to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. That would definitely suck. My greatest concern with the weather, though, is that Kara has said if the weather's bad tomorrow, they won't be coming up to spend the night Christmas Eve.

I haven't even seen Baby Danica since last Thursday. I keep lamenting to anyone who will listen that I might not get to see the kid again until she's 9 months old, at this rate. I feel like I'm missing out on all the cute, adorable, newborn-ness.

People remind me continually that that pretty much consists of sleeping, pooping, breast-feeding, and more sleeping.

But I still want to just hold her and snuggle with her, and make sure she knows who I am!!!

So as the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season escalates, I'm praying for docile weather and for safe travels for families who are trying to get together for the holiday season - whether it be a half-hour drive, or a cross-country flight.

Merry Christmas everyone, and have a happy & healthy New Year. See you in 2009!!

One Wait is Over, the Other Just Beginning...

In the past few weeks, I have told you about all the waiting going on this December for my family - not just for Christmas, but also for the birth of my sister's baby.

Well, one of those waits is over. And it's not December 25th yet, so you guessed it - the baby finally arrived!

On Monday, December 15th, 2008, at 11:52 AM, Danica Hazel was born, weighing 7 lbs. 2 ozs., measuring 19 3/4" long. I have an absolutely adorable little niece to snuggle & spoil! I visited Danica Monday night, when she was about 7 hours old, and she was the most precious little thing. Her big brother is also pretty fond of her too, reminding everyone when he gets a chance that she is HIS Danica and that she's "sweeeeeet"!!

I couldn't agree more :)
So now, a week away from Christmas, the added excitement of having a new little bundle around for the holidays has me even more anxious for the holidays! One more week...So soon, yet so far away! In the days leading up to Christmas, I intend on savouring every wonderful moment - the wrapping, the building Gingerbread houses, the gift exchanges, the food, and the music. And, of course, Danica.

What a wonderful time of year!!

Forget the 'Staches...Check out those ABS!!!

Today's Blog was supposed to be about the Ottawa Senators (woeful as they may be), and how much I hate their mustaches. Because the '08-'09 Sens, amidst a less-than-inspiring season thus far, decided as a group to start growing 'staches to enhance team bonding or team spirit or some crap like that.

I believe it was Dany Heatley's dumb idea, and most of them are now growing hairy caterpillars above their upper lips....

Or not. Some, like Jason Spezza, have sorry excuses for a mustache, puny little whiskers that you can barely see. Others, like Shean Donovan, are refusing to partake. He says he'll start growing his someday...Truth is, Shean's wife probably knows they all look like goofs and is forcing him to shave every morning. Can't say I blame her.

The only "reputable" 'staches I've seen so far are belonging to Martin Gerber, Chris Phillips, Chris Kelly, and Antoine Vermette.

Ah, Antoine Vermette. Ya see? Right there. That's where this Blog got sidetracked.

I went searching for photos of some of the mustaches, but was coming up empty-handed. So I started Googling those names above to see if I could find some image results with them sporting their new (God-awful) facial hair, and again, I couldn't find any photo evidence to add to the Mustache Blog.

But when I typed in Antoine Vermette's name, I quickly forgot about the Fu Manchus. I found these pictures instead:

H-h-h-hubba hubba!!!

Why have I never seen these pictures before?!?! Why was I wasting my time on Wade Redden all those years?!?! (Okay, I take that back, Wade had a pretty hot physique himself...But he's gone now...Time to move on, right?!)

I hereby declare that Antoine Vermette is no longer allowed to wear a shirt. Ever. Not when he's off the ice, not when he's on the ice...NEVER!!

A body like that should not be covered up. It should be on display at all times, for gals like me to drool over. That is just the most beautiful male form I have ever seen with my own two eyes!

So yeah...You don't get any pictures of ugly mustaches. But somehow, I don't think the female fans of the Blog out there will mind!!

The Season of Waiting...In More Ways than One!

You all know just how much I love this time of year, right? I love Christmas - I love the holiday season!!

After this latest fresh dumping of snow, I'm definitely in the Christmas spirit. There are holiday parties and festive gatherings galore in the weeks to come, and I'm super-pumped. I finished my Christmas shopping last weekend, received my last parcel from Amazon in the mail yesterday so I'm ready to wrap, I've been watching holiday specials each evening on TV, I have my Christmas cards ready to drop in the mail today...Jeez, I even did a little (easy) Christmas baking on the weekend!

The problem? Well, that overly-anxious butterfly feeling I get every year in the last couple of days before Christmas Eve? It's hit early this year. I've already got it. And it's only flippin' December 10th!!!

The difference is that this year I'm not just waiting for Christmas. There's another special upcoming event that has me twisted into knots of anticipation and excitement.

Any day now, my new niece or nephew should be arriving!

For the record, the due date isn't until tomorrow. So really, I shouldn't be so wound up and wondering why the little one hasn't decided to join us already. The thing is, my sister Kara and her husband Chris surprised us the last time when they called to say baby was on the way 10 days early. It caught us all off-guard, but it was a wonderful time, and I can't wait for it to happen again!

This time, however, it's a little different. We didn't have to do this sitting around & waiting business before. I much prefer the slightly-early "shock arrival" than this thumb-twiddling, let's-get-the-show-on-the-road stuff!!

I know, I know. The baby will come when he or she is good & ready. And there's nothing I can do to speed up the process. I just have to wait impatiently to meet the newest member of our family. And when the baby does arrive, it will be well worth the wait, I'm sure!

The thoughts of Christmastime this year, with a new baby to snuggle and the added excitement of having not one but TWO little ones at our house, has me looking forward to the holidays like never before.

I might have to start Sharon's "Twelve Days of Christmas" Drinking Game early this year!!!

St. Luke's Medical Center in Fort Bonifacio

As we pass the fort bonifacio goin' to NCMH mandaluyong city, I saw the construction of the second new St. Luke's Hospital at the Fort Bonifacio Global City, the country's newest business district.

The new St. Luke's Hospital will have two towers: a 14-storey, 600-bed hospital building; and a Medical Arts Building that will house 375 doctors' offices.

College of the Holy Spirit of Tarlac Accident

Dec.4'2008 College of the Holy Spirit of Tarlac Accident
Message: Thursday, December 4, was a tragic day
for us CHS family. At around 12 noon
(half day class), one of our Paniqui
schoolbus (like a mini van) drove home
six high school students. Beside the
driver was Ana Sorriano- IV year, at
the driver's back was Frances Yanguas-
II year, beside her was her friend and
classmate Patricia Tiangsing and then
Vernon Bulosan- II year. Also inside
were Juneah Arciaga and Rio Bautista
III year. The bus driver apparently was
speeding up. The students tried warning
him but he ignored them. He attempted
to overtake a vehicle in front of them.
Unfortunately the sugarcane truck on
the left lane driving towards them, hit
the rear side of the school bus,
causing the bus to spin hard. Its front
then, hit the sugarcane truck with
great impact causing the truck to tip
over to the right side of the highway
and the sugarcanes to fall out. The
massive accident claimed the life of
the driver instantly and two of our
students, Frances and Patricia. Some
good Samaritans brought all the
students to Jecson's hospital Tarlac
where Frances and Patricia were
pronounced DOA. Ana suffered from face
injuries, misplaced jaw and at once was
treated in the operating room. Vernon
was also hit on the head and was taken
to the ICU for observation. Rio
fractured her shoulder while Juneah had
scratches. Among the six, it was Juneah
who stayed conscious the whole time and
was able to relate what happened.

Yesterday afternoon, we (classmates and
teachers) went to offer our condolences
to the bereaved families of Frances and
Patricia. We've been praying for them
and their families since it happened.
Rio and Juneah are now safe from
danger. They were discharged from the
hospital yesterday. Ana is now
recovering in Jecson's while Vernon is
still in critical condition.
We are very grateful to have teacher
like Ms. Joy Andrade, Evelyn Delenela
and Sir Butz Surla for their immediate
assistance. Also our very active PTA
president Dr. Dungca who right away
after learning what happened rushed to
Jecson's to offer his services.

We're asking for prayers for all these
six and their families. We especially
ask you if you could join us in prayer
for Vernon's safety. Let us all ask St.
Arnold to watch over us and keep us
safe always.

This was happened when I was in Manila for our Affiliation in National Center for Mental Health..Please Pray for all those 6 and their families...I would like to extend my personal condolences to Frances and Patricia's Family...

Murder at the Sugar Shack Cafe!!

Yes, folks, it's that time of year again. It's time for me to offer up my annual report on the Murder Mystery!

This year, MM meant a little more to me. I've acted in it twice before, and last year I helped out behind the scenes, but this year, I was actually directing it.

Not without a great deal of help, though.

First of all, I'd have been lost if I hadn't had my co-director, Brenda, keeping me on track. She deserves heaps of praise for not losing her mind while dealing with me and my daily doses of sheer panic. She found wigs and costumes for some of our performers, doled out tons of funny lines for them to use on stage, came up with countless props and decorations to be used in the hall...That's only grazing the surface of what she did!! Did I mention she had to deal with me, the WHACK-O!?! Yeah. Her job was not easy!

We also had help from Donna & Lynn, who have been involved with the directing and behind-the-scenes work for the past 15 or 16 Murder Mysteries. Then there was Barbara, who has been responsible for tickets sales for years, and she was there for us once again this year. And last but not least, big thanks to Rolly, who takes on the task of creating absolutely amazing back-drops each and every year. He adds a special touch to the set, and the Sugar Shack Cafe looked outstanding thanks to him!!

Alright...Now...On to the show!

This year, everyone was invited back in time to the '60's, to the Sugar Shack Cafe, where popular high school cheerleader Patti - (ohhh yeah - Brenda played that part as well after our original "Patti" bowed out...Did I mention how invaluable Brenda was??) - drank a poisoned Cherry Coke and dropped dead.

Eight of her high school peers who were present at the time of her death became suspects, and after being interrogated by the QPD's singing policewoman, Mara Landers (yours truly), they spent the next few hours accusing one another and making the packed hall roar with laughter.

Our cast included: Danny 'Z', a rockstar wannabe (played by Ryan Powell); Cindy Lewis, a sexy Go-Go dancer (Joanne Marcotte); Luke Wonderman, the mullett-sporting captain of the hockey team (Kenny Fleck); Jennifer Hughes, Patti's best friend and rival cheerleader (Marie-Eve Provost); Dean Hudson, the leather-clad 'leader of the pack' (Dean Howard); Leslie Cadieux, the snobby Homecoming Queen (Tracy Hamilton); Frazer Watson, the brainy misfit (Curtis Hudson); and Lauren Sinclair, the unpopular wallflower (Kerry-Lynn O'Connell).

(The cast & I on-stage - Photo courtesy of Cheryl Dolan)

After the characters tossed out multiple motives for one another throughout each scene, it was finally determined that poor Lauren, the sniffling, snorting brainiac of the bunch, was the one who slipped the poison in Patti's Cherry Coke, thus ending yet another year of murder & mayhem in Quyon!

Let me tell you this - they were unbelievable. An excellent cast. I couldn't have been more proud of them. They came up with zingers that had previously been un-rehearsed that had the crowd in stitches. They had strong characters, and this year, we had some twists that set us apart from other years: We had a group dance to kick things off, and we had some singing throughout the play that the audience really seemed to enjoy.

Overall? I'd have to call it yet another successful Murder Mystery, and I'm grateful to the Quyon Lionettes for giving Brenda & I the opportunity to run it this year. I think I can safely speak for both of us when I say that we had a ball!

Bittersweet Afternoon at The Bank

As many of you already know, I had November 22 circled on my calendar for quite a while now.

I had purchased pre-sale tickets for the Sens game that afternoon way back in early September - so long ago, that it felt the day might never come. I was eagerly awaiting this game for a special reason. Not just because I love going to Sens games, nor because I was interested in seeing their new third jerseys.

I was there on "Back in Black" day to see one player in particular. And he wasn't even wearing one of those snazzy new black sweaters.

The player I was there to see was suited up in a number 6 jersey, wearing the white, red & blue of the New York Rangers.

I'm still not used to seeing Wade Redden wearing different colours. It didn't get any easier in person. From the moment he stepped on the ice for the warm-up, right through to the end of the Sens 4-1 win, I couldn't help thinking, "He's on the wrong team. He doesn't look right in that uinform." (Although he does look pretty sexy in this photo, from http://www.ottawacitizen.com/)
That being said, I was really glad I was there, and it was a great game to be at. We brought Caden to his first live NHL game. He loves watching hockey on TV, and going to see his Uncle Luke play on Sundays, so we figured he'd like to see a Sens game in person. He was pretty quiet most of the time, and refused to take off his coat, tuque and mitts until Cowan bribed him with cotton candy in the third period, but apparently he couldn't stop talking about it afterwards! His only issue seemed to be the traffic getting out of the parking lot - while stuck in the bottle-neck of vehicles trying to escape, he kept saying, "Go, Daddy! GO!" (Don't we all feel that way leaving SBP, though?!)

As for the actual game - it was great to see the Sens back on track! They dominated the Rangers, especially through the first period, when they recorded the first 14 shots on goal. Alex Auld played another strong game, leaving me to believe that Martin Gerber's not gonna get much of a shot in nets again this year. Too bad, so sad.

My new favourite Sen, Jesse Winchester, scored a goal, his second of the season, so that was pretty cool. It was like a changing of the guard, as he and Wade Redden both went tumbling into the net after he scored - my new fave taking out my old fave while scoring on the same play. Jesse's still a far cry from being my Wade, but I admire his grit and he seems to work really hard. I look forward to seeing him grow and develop as a Senator.

The other Ottawa goals came from Jason Spezza, who opened the scoring, Nick Foligno, who had actually scored earlier but the goal was disallowed after they said he touched it with a high stick (bullsh*t), and the captain, Daniel Alfredsson.

Wade did manage to earn a point on the lone Rangers goal, collecting the second assist on Markus Naslund's tally. It was pretty cool to be scored against and still be able to cheer and smile!

But for me, the absolute best part of the afternoon was seeing the video tribute to Wade Redden on the jumbotron about 6 minutes into the game. During a TV-time out stoppage, my mom elbowed me and pointed to the big screen. Matchbox 20's song "How Far We've Come" was playing, with clips and images of Redden flashing across - videos of him scoring goals and celebrating wins with his teammates, pictures of his signing autographs and posing with kids at CHEO, a shot of him holding the trophy the year they beat Buffalo to become the Eastern Conference Champions and advance to the Stanley Cup Finals...

After the classy video tribute was over, they thanked Redden for his 11 years in Ottawa, and all the the valuable things he did for the team and the community. By this point, the fans were up and cheering, giving him a well-deserved and lengthy standing ovation. Redden rose from the bench and waved his glove at the fans in thanks.

I had a lump in my throat; I had tears in my eyes. Only afterwards did I find out that my mom was struggling to keep her emotions in check too, and my sister actually even had tears streaming down her cheeks (which she's blaming on being overly-emotional at 8 1/2 months pregnant...but I think she would've cried anyway...)

Being there for that moment - after all the crap I've had to go through as a Redden fan over the years - it made it all worthwhile. Seeing him recognized for his contributions and seeing an arena full of people applaud him - it made me proud to be a fan of Wade Redden's. And while I had hoped I'd never see the day that he'd be sitting in another team's colours and waving to the fans in his return to Ottawa, I'm so glad I was there to see it. I wouldn't have wanted to miss it for the world.

He's still #1 in my heart.

How Far We've Come by Matchbox 20
Waking up at the start of the end of the world,
But it's feeling just like every other morning before,
Now I wonder what my life is going to mean if it's gone.
The cars are moving like a half a mile an hour
And I started staring at the passengers who're waving goodbye
Can you tell me what was ever really special about me all this time?
I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we're gonna find out
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come
Well I believe it all is coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we're gonna pretend,
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come.

I think it turned ten o'clock but I don't really know

And I can't remember caring for an hour or so

Started crying and I couldn't stop myself

I started running but there's no where to run to.
I sat down on the street, took a look at myself.
Said, "Where you going, man? You know the world is headed for hell."
Say your goodbyes if you've got someone you can say goodbye to.

I believe the world is burning to the ground

Oh well I guess we're gonna find out

Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come

Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we're gonna pretend,
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come

It's gone, gone, baby, it's all gone
There is no one on the corner and there's no one at home
It was cool cool, it was just all cool
Now it's over for me and it's over for you

Well it's gone, gone, baby, it's all gone
There is no one on the corner and there's no one at home
Well it was cool cool, it was just all cool
Now it's over for me and it's over for you

I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we're gonna find out
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come

Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we're gonna pretend,
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come

I Could Have Been BETTER!

I could have been!!Yes I know- This statement could be one of the saddest that there is-People might be wondering why I find these words sad or how sad these words can be.Constantly, we experience things that can cause us happiness or even sadness, sometimes grief and pain and most of the time encouragements and discouragements, right?!! But normally, it is "regret" that we have in our hearts-Regret for the things that we've done and regret for the things that we fail to do.Last weeks was our MIDTERM examination. Do you remember how you felt after taking the exam? Some of you felt good and happy, while most of students felt really, really sad. I know you tried to hide the sad feelings, but still you felt so low that you whispered to yourself "I could have reviewed my lesson better" or "I could have paid more attention my teacher"
Let's be honest and admit it. I'm not advising you to shout it out and tell everyone that you made a mistake and how you wish you could have been better...
Just keep it to yourself, that's just enough. Test...Test... and test!
Well, I think that's why we're here- to be tested... In school, there are certain tests where we fail and test we get high scores. Like in real life, we sometimes fail to do the right thing and to give our best shot! We maybe think that it's okay....maybe it is or maybe not at all.
Do your best! Stop waiting for the time when you're already old or the time when you cannot do anything to make your life better! Don't wait for the time when you're heart filled with regret but couldn't do anything about it!Don't find yourself saying "I could have been a better friend"!!!
Don't say "I COULD NAVE BEEN BETTER"...coz you can do nothing more than to say it...

My first Sony experience is with my Sony VAIO

I don’t know what to say. I have a laptop here, my very first laptop is Sony VAIO. I have alot of memorable experiences in this laptop. I want to share with you guys my experiences with my laptop. This Sony VAIO laptop is one of the most important things in my life(swear). This is my life saver because I can do all my homework alone with my Sony VAIO laptop such as research, paper works, projects, creating a power point presentation, case study, and so on. Aside from making homeworks, I’m also using this laptop for internet surfing. No matter where I go just get with my laptop, I will just connect it to DSL, Wi-Fi, Broadband or just a cellphone and use it as modem so that I can connect to the internet and you won’t missed any of your e-mail, YM, or even any social networks out there. I guess one of my best here is the LCD screen, VAIO’s screen is unique to all laptops in the market(that’s what I observed).

"Majority of laptop's LCD screen are from only one or few LCD manufacturer, it’s just that PC manufacturer only naming/branding it. One of Sony VAIO’s cool features I like the most is the LCD screen, because it is clear and the brightness meets my taste.”Kuya Jose said.

I agree with kuya Jose. Because of its clear bright LCD screen, images are as bright as on an LCD TV screen thanks to dual backlights,a dual inverter, an effective glare filter and AR (anti reflection) coating, which make screen viewing enjoyable no matter what the light conditions or angle of the screen. There is a noticeable difference in contrast, and colours appear more vibrant thanks to Clear Bright.
I also conducted the photo editing here in my VAIO laptop for my photo corrections. I really captured the color adjustment of my photos using this laptop. Everytime I take a shot of picture, I immediately put those photos here in my Sony VAIO laptop, because I don’t want to miss any of great memories in my life. I also edited the collected pictures of 1 month vacation of my Auntie fel.
It’s been a long time since her last vacation here so I want to surprise her and make her special. We put the pictures together in Sony VAIO; we made a slide show video.
When my Auntie Fel has seen the video, she don’t know what to say, instead she cried and thanks me for the wonderful surprise. I also cried because I her happy. I also thank my Sony VAIO. This memorable experience wont be possible w/o my Sony Vaio laptop.
Sony bring only the best of modern electronic products with high quality standard. That's why I choose Sony VAIO. No one can beat Sony in giving us World's First Products.BTW I'm Edz, a CyberShot enthusiast.

Me and my Sony VAIO

No matter what the light conditions or angle of the screen, the viewing is still enjoyable thanks to AR (Anti Reflection) Coating

Sony VAIO Memories

Editing Slide show video for my auntie Fel

My Sony VAIO at my back

Love it!

My Sony VAIO
laptop definitely gave significance in my life just like the Sony’s World’s First Slimmest Camera with Optical Image Stabilizer, it won’t let you miss any of special memories in your life.

Boracay Island | Best Beach Resort

Hey you! have you ever been in Boracay Island? If not,You should read this entry.
Boracay is one of the Best Philippine Beach Resort and also Amanpulo a luxury beach resort in the Philippines. BTW Boracay Island is known for its nightlife & parties, but aside from that there is more to explore of the island. There are caves to explore, resorts, the long white beach to stroll on, not to mention the fun atv ride to the highest point of the island! But what loved about the place is the carefree attitude of the people there, where one’s goal is to have fun and not think about work, or time constraints. There is the exploration of marine life by scuba/snorkel & reef walking on the small islands that surround Boracay. There are caves to explore, the long white beach to stroll on, not to mention the fun atv ride to the highest point of the island! But what loved about the place is the carefree attitude of the people there, where one’s goal is to have fun and not think about work, or time constraints. You can just let go and have the best time of your life!

Getting there is easy, as flights to nearby island Caticlan flies almost every hour & the boat ride to the island takes only around 15 minutes. People there are very accommodating, even helping you climb the boat while balancing your bags. On the island, transportation is mainly tricycle but only on the main road. No vehicles are allowed on the beaches so one has to walk towards their resort. But walking is fun, you get to see the sights & sounds and truly feel Boracay. When the sun is up, you have all the outdoor activities, and when the sun is down, bars and parties come alive on the white beach. I’d definitely recommend it to people who wants to really have a vacation, and forget the stresses of life & those who want to have fun!

But there is also a side to Boracay that only few people know. For people, who don’t like the parties and the crowd, there are places there that are not found on the crowded white beach where one can relax and feel as one with nature. It is peaceful and at the same time relaxing just to sit down and all you can hear are the crashing waves, feeling as if you are the only person there.
For beach lovers, this is a great place to explore. One can go to Boracay and not bring anything they needed for you can always shop there, from groceries, to toiletries, to beachwear, all is there!Boracay is a must-go place for people out to have fun in their life & experience a different kind of lifestyle than the norm. Experience the best beaches here!
