Shanna Moakler Quits Job After Miss California Row

The Miss California 2009 Carrie Prejean controversy has yet to see its conclusion after Shanna Moakler resigned from her post as Miss California co-executive director. It appears that Shanna Moakler was offended after Miss USA Pageant owner Donald Trump had denied Shanna's recommendations to strip Carrie Prejean out of her Miss USA 2009 first runner up title.

In Shanna Moakler's press release statement, she revealed that: "Since the press conference yesterday, I had a chance to think about what has taken place, and I feel that at this time it is in my best interest to resign from the Miss California USA organization". Shanna Moakler appeared to be in limbo about the Miss USA Pageant rules as it was violated by Carrie Prejean, Shanna lamented that: "I cannot with a clear conscious move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth." Being a beauty queen herself, Shanna Moakler insisted that pageant winners should act as "role models" and Moakler stands by her views by biting the bullet and resigning so that she can be a good role model for her children. UPDATE: I guess divine intervention was indeed on her side because Donald Trump decided on for Carrie Prejean to keep her title as Miss USA 2009 first runner up. Perez Hilton is definitely not rejoicing!

Carrie Prejean and Michael Phelps Dating "Casually", Grandma Confirms

Miss California Carrie Prejean is indeed dating bemedalled tanker Michael Phelps. This report was confirmed by Carrie's grandmother herself Jeanette Coppolla to Radar Online. Coppolla informed that "Carrie and Michael have been out to baseball games and lunch... He always calls her when he is in town and they go out.” When asked about Michael Phelp's "Casanova" reputation, Carrie's grandmother did not mince words that her granddaughter is fully aware of that and she's just taking their dates in a stride: "Carrie knows that he has dated a lot of girls but she enjoys going out with him and isn't serious about being in a relationship with him... He's a nice guy and she likes him."

When Carrie Prejean's granny was asked to comment about the Miss USA controversy that her grandchild is involved in a spat against blogger Perez Hilton, Jeanette Coppolla was just surprised that "there were too many gays out there". Jeannette wryly said that: "I don't know why that gay guy Perez was even judging a contest with a bunch of girls. That doesn't make any sense. He should be judging a Chippendale's contest". Miss California Carrie Prejean Defends Her Stance Against Gay Marriage

Beleaguered Miss USA 2009 first runner up Miss California Carrie Prejean defended her opinion in the question and answer portion that cost her to lose the crown in the Miss USA 2009 beauty pageant. In in an interview with Billy Bush for "The Billy Bush Show", Carrie said that "My sister is a second lieutenant in the Air Force and she is a gay rights activist… She supports gay people, she supports gay marriage. My beliefs have nothing to do with my sister or my mom, or whatever."

Miss Calfornia Carrie Prejean is now faced with numerous criticisms when she answered "We live in a land you can choose same-sex marriage and opposite marriage. In my country, in my family, I believe a marriage should be between a man and a woman.” This was in reference to her answer in the judge's (celebrity blogger Perez Hilton) question about the legalization of gay marriage in the United States. With all the criticisms and the boos she got during the pageant night, Miss California thought that: "It is a very touchy subject and he (Perez Hilton) is a homosexual and I see where he was coming from and I see the audience would've wanted me to be more politically correct," Carrie insisted. "But I was raised in a way that you can never compromise your beliefs and your opinions for anything."

 

In "The Billy Bush Show", Carrie Prejean admitted that her answer eventually cost her to lose the Miss USA 2009 crown - "It did cost me my crown. I wouldn't have had it any other way. I said what I feel... I stated an opinion that was true to myself and that's all I can do." Even her "gay activist" sister was not offended by Carrie's answer, according to her, "My sister is not gay... she said, 'Sis, I'm not offended by anything that you said. We have two different opinions and I love you because of it. I love you because you stood up for what was right, and it's not a matter of being gay or not gay, it's a matter of you competing for Miss USA and getting a question and answering it to the best of your ability." Also Miss California Carrie Prejean did not confirm nor deny that she formerly dated Olympic swimming superstar Michael Phelps “He is a great man… Wouldn't you like to know, Billy Bush? We can talk about that a different day." All we can say is good luck to you Carrie and enjoy yourself being lambasted in Perez Hilton's blog.
