That is Project Runway winner Gretchen Jones sort of giving you the evil eye.
Why?
Well, Marie Claire magazine, that being the magazine where Project Runway judge, Nina Garcia, works, produced a video about Gretchen Jones in which she tells you 10 things you don't know about her.
Choice bits of fascinating information. Like one time Gretchen says she "got busy in a Burger King restroom." Choice bits like that.
Now it really did not matter to me that Gretchen beat Mondo for the win on Project Runway. Gretchen really needed the money bad, while Mondo had already won a cash stash. And, in the end, I'd grown to like Gretchen's particular brand of weirdness.
Others have not been so okay with Mondo not winning.
Like the person in the above photo. Protesting Mondo's Project Runway loss at Jon Stewart's Rally for Sanity last weekend in Washington, D.C.
Apparently there are a lot of people in and out of the fashion industry who have been questioning the sanity of Nina Garcia and Michael Kors and their reasoning as to why Gretchen should be the winner of Project Runway. A lot of their reasoning had something to do with Gretchen being trendy, or trending forward, or fashion forward, or something like that.
Well. There are a lot of clothes designers in the world. Many of them are famous, at least to those who pay attention to such things. I've heard few of the names.
But, these guys named Tom and Lorenzo, they do pay attention to the fashion world and seem to know what they are talking about. Their blogging analysis, with photos, of the Project Runway finale is both interesting and funny. And they have a lot of pictures of other current designers, who's stuff, at least to my untrained eyes, looks a lot like what Mondo is making.
Here's a blurb from Tom & Lorenzo's Blog about the raging trendy controversy...
"You could argue that Gretchen's collection was equally as strong, but THAT'S NOT THE ARGUMENT THE JUDGES MADE. Despite the fact that they literally could not describe Mondo's collection without using the kind of language reserved for winning designers ("He's incredibly creative and talented.") the ONLY arguments made in support of Gretchen by Nina and Michael were "It's on trend" and "I can sell these garments." Pardon us for being purists, but what appalling arguments to be making. This is what happens when a show goes from ELLE Magazine and the Banana Republic accessories wall to Marie Claire and the Piperlime accessories wall. Project Runway was never cutting edge even on its best days, but the dumbing down of the brand has been a distressing thing to witness."
Now on to the Gretchen Jones video, brought to you courtesy of marieclaire.com. I suspect this video may not be long for the world, due to the fact that it is generating a lot of none too flattering reactions, out there in Internet World.

Project Runway: Part 1 of Season Finale Sends Michael Costello Home
I don't remember when I've seen such devastation on a Reality TV Show as what we saw when Michael Costello realized he was out on Project Runway.
I think among the sobbing I heard Michael say that this setback would have his family demanding he get married again. So, that is where the kid came from? He'd been married?
Anyway, Tim Gunn checking in on the final 4 at home was interesting.
Andy South, in Hawaii, was the most likable he has been. But, I totally don't get why he was not the one who was out, what with the bizarre bikini. Andy's back sob story caused me to find him a little less annoying. Apparently they'd escaped from Laos. And now operate a farm where catfish are grown among other things.
Hawaii made Andy seem like much more of a macho man than New York City did. Andy horrified Tim by picking up a live catfish and made Tim scream like a school girl when Andy suggested handing the catfish to Tim so he could have fun holding it. Andy was also very adept and breaking open a coconut.
I think next up was Mondo in Denver. Mondo's family seemed nice. Funny dialogue between Tim and Mondo's mother about the raising of Mondo. Apparently Mondo was forced to place baseball (short stop) if he wanted to take piano lessons. His family seemed quite proud of Mondo now, especially his sister.
And then it was to Palm Springs to check in on Michael. Michael had a lot of friends there, all male, and his little boy. And his live-in boyfriend. Apparently Michael's family have long given him a hard time about his lifestyle choices.
And then it was off to Portland to check in on Gretchen Jones. Well, Gretchen has been a Reality TV Show Goldmine. I've gone for really disliking her and wanting her to have a humiliating comeuppance, to sort of liking her and sort of feeling sorry for her. Apparently Gretchen returned to Portland to find her life destroyed, abandoned by her significant other (was not made clear what gender. I suspect male.), her bank account wiped out, no place to live. I forget what else was in Gretchen's litany of woe.
Then it was back to NYC where each had to put 2 things from their collection and one new item on the Runway. Andy's was the one among the 4 that seemed really really bad to me. But, what do I know?
Michael Costello just seems like a much better one to keep around, just for the making good TV factor. Andy is really not made for TV.
Tim Gunn and the others were eventually able to get Michael's hysterical sobbing to stop and get him back laughing. In the end Michael really did win everyone over. Except, I suppose, for Ivy.

Project Runway: Mondo, Michael, Gretchen & Andy In With April Out
You are looking at what Project Runway's Michael Kors judged to be a Showstopper, on the final episode of Project Runway, before the finale episodes of Project Runway, where the final winner is named.
When Kors said "Showstopper" I thought he was going to follow that by saying it was so boring the dress stopped the show dead. Shows how well I know high fashion.
The Showstopper was made by Michael Costello. His inspiration was the Statue of Liberty. Yes, I don't get it either.
The 5 remaining designers where told by the Mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, that they were to design something inspired by something in NYC.
Mondo and April picked the Brooklyn Bridge. Gretchen picked the Lower East Side. While Andy picked Central Park.
Mondo coherently explained how his inspiration ended up in what he made. April I could make no sense of. Nor could the judges. It was just another black dress, with the judges describing this one as an outfit for a pregnant witch. That sort of hurt April's feelings and I sort of felt sorry for her. Gretchen's outfit was somehow inspired by brick she saw on an old building. I didn't get it. I don't think Gretchen did either. Andy's Central Park was another black warrior princess with a slutty twist, that caused Michael (not Kors) to make a comment along the line that he'd "ask the woman in that outfit out on a date, for a very cheap dinner, let her have her way with me. And then move on." I am very very roughly paraphrasing here.
Gretchen had a really rough time of it. She admitted to being worn down and falling apart. Sick of working on challenges that made no sense to her. And Gretchen told us she was sick of being broke, that she barely made it into NYC without running out of gas. Lifetime does not fly these people to New York? They have to provide their own means of locomotion at their own expense?
Heaps of praise where dumped on Michael's Statute of Liberty and Mondo's Brooklyn Bridge, with Michael being the first told he was in. Then Mondo was in. Then Andy. So, now the two girls, very young April and older Gretchen got to squirm.
And then Heidi told Gretchen she was in. This left April in tears.
Next week Tim Gunn visits the remaining 4 in their hometowns. It will be interesting to see if we see the baby mama of Michael's son. It will also be interesting to see Mondo in his home zone. And Gretchen. The less I see of Andy the better I like it. But, he is in Hawaii and the scenery there is always nice.

Project Runway: Ivy Accuses Michael of Cheating While Mondo Does Not Win 4 in a Row Due to Andy Winning Instead
Mondo did not make it a record 4 wins in a row, this week, on Project Runway. He came close, though.
Andy South won. Andy South wears on my nerves. That is Andy South staring at who knows what in the picture.
This week the remaining 6 had to make something called active wear that matched the look of a line of action wear that Heidi Klum will be hawking on Amazon.com
The designers had to use fabric that Heidi had already acquired, augmented with other fabric, should they feel the need.
Mondo was a bit overwhelmed due to Heidi's colors being a bit bland compared to Mondo's usual color choices. Mondo was being a bit of a prima donna diva this episode. This slightly reduced his likability.
Heidi showed up with Tim Gunn in the workroom. She did not like what Mondo was making. Heidi thought Mondo was rolling his eyes at her. I forget now what it was Heidi did not like about what Mondo was making. This was the point when Mondo went into diva mode and left the work room to pout for a bit.
And then Heidi came to Gretchen. Heidi really did not like what Gretchen was doing. Even I knew Gretchen was not following the criteria Heidi had made clear.
And then Heidi through them another curve. They had an extra day and had to design 2 more pieces to go with the look. Oh, what panic.
But then Heidi told them they'd have helpers. For Michael Costello this meant all the people who hated him were coming back. Things had been going well for Michael, with the remaining people figuring out he was not the devil incarnate.
So, 6 of those who had been cut came back. Mondo got to choose first. Soon there was a lot of sewing going on, when Ivy launched into Michael about cheating. This was real bizarre to me and I understood none of it. This led to Tim Gunn showing up and basically clearing Michael of the cheating charge, that somehow involved using tape, rather then sewing. No one called it Tapegate.
The most amusing moment of the episode came when the ultra bad loser bitch Ivy was referencing karma and how it would bite Michael in the future, after which we saw the sewing machine attack Ivy with a needle.
After the Runway Show it was Gretchen, Michael and Christopher in the bottom, with April, Mondo and the aforementioned Andy as the Top 3.
I'd grown to sort of like Gretchen over time. But this episode she brought back her bad self. When Heidi and Michael Kors, Nina Garcia and the guest judge, who's name I can't possibly be expected to remember, discussed who to give the win to and who was out, Heidi was pretty funny describing Mondo's workroom attitude, but she was real funny discussing Gretchen's oversized ego and overbearingness.
In the end, after Heidi told Gretchen she was in, Heidi advised Gretchen to learn to take construction criticism, which then caused Gretchen to complain about the quality of the constructive criticism. I think this is what is known as irony.
I forgot to mention, it was Christopher who was out. He seemed to take it well. I also forgot to mention that Heidi like all 3 of Andy's designs so much she was putting all of them on Amazon. Originally Heidi said 1 design would be picked for Amazon. Andy seemed thrilled. Does Andy get paid for his design?

Project Runway: Mondo's Record 3 Wins in a Row While Announcing He Is HIV Positive
Well, Project Runway continues to be the most entertaining 90 minute long Reality TV Show. I think it may be the only 90 minute Reality TV Show.
Project Runway uses those extra minutes to deliver some good drama.
This week the designers had to design a fabric inspired by something in their past. Then Tim Gunn brought in their loved ones, like moms and boyfriends.
There was way too much blubbering. How long had they been away from their mommys? A couple weeks?
Mondo's fabric design theme was plus signs. Mondo then told us he'd been carrying a secret to 10 years. He is HIV Positive.
From what I am reading on the Internet, it seems Mondo is becoming a bit of a phenomenon. Every once in awhile there is a breakout Reality TV Star. It seems like this may be the case with Mondo. This week Mondo won a record breaking 3rd Project Runway win in a row. And he delivered what will likely be this year's Project Runway Emmy submission episode with his dramatic explanation of his fabric's story, after Nina Garcia told Mondo she had no idea what story his fabric was telling.
Soon, pretty much everyone was in sob mode.
Watching the story arc and character of Mondo develop during the course of this season of Project Runway has been very interesting. I started off thinking he was a total creepy weirdo. Now I think he's an extremely well-grounded, smart, funny, unique, one-of-a-kind talented guy.
I am also liking how I have gone from totally not liking Gretchen to now liking her.
But, the biggest surprise of the episode, to me, was not Mondo being HIV Positive, it was the fact that Michael Costello has reproduced with a male replication of himself. The son showed up with Michael's mom. No birth mother in view, or mention made of. The son looked like a little version of Michael, so this must be a biological reproduction. Michael just did not seem like a breeder, to me.
Michael Costello's story arc on Project Runway has been interesting too, in addition to that unexpected reproduction. He's gone from everyone pretty much despising him, to now, pretty much everyone likes him.
There is only one of the remaining dress makers who bugs me. Andy South. He had a breakdown because his mommy showed up. Andy seems real dumb. I don't like the way he talks. I don't like his reptilian appearance. He is not even remotely interesting.
It was Valerie Mayen who was out this week. Even I could tell the dress she made was really bad. I liked Valerie. She was very good-natured and funny. Gave great commentary. And I enjoyed her corny departing comments to each of the remaining designers. She was being Dorothy saying good bye to the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion.
I don't remember what we were manipulated in to thinking was going to happen in the previews for next week's Project Runway. Will Mondo make it 4 in a row? I have no idea.

Project Runway: Ivy Out While Mondo Wins Again
That is Ivy getting the Auf Wiedersehen, you're OUT kiss, from Heidi Klum on tonight's Project Runway. Ivy is OUT due to making a couple dresses even I could tell were terrible.I really have not figured out why I find Project Runway entertaining. I have absolutely no interest in high or low fashion. I have absolutely no interest in sewing clothes.
I guess I find it entertaining watching people do something I know I could not do and seeing them whip out these ridiculous items of clothing. Along with drama and angst.
Some of the characters are entertaining. I have gone from really disliking Gretchen, to, well, she has sort of redeemed herself. She seems to have gotten cuter.
Most of the non-redeemable characters are now gone, like that annoying one who was OUT last week, Michael Drummond, I believe was the name. One of the worst speaking voices I've ever been tortured by.
Project Runway is not nearly as amusing without Casanova. They really should have kept him longer.
And then there is the little guy who calls himself Mondo. At first I had trouble getting past what a weirdo he seemed to be. Now he seems more interesting character than weirdo. What he wears is a character of its own. And what he does with his hair is usually strange.
Another strange thing about Mondo is, after seeing him for awhile now, he starts seeming really, well, almost normal and grounded. And quite likable, with an amusing sense of humor.
Mondo won tonight's competition to design a high end piece of couture. Whatever that means. And a ready-wear companion piece was later thrown in as a curve. Mondo won $20,000, plus got his designs in some magazines as advertorials, which I assume are advertisements that serve as editorials. But I really have no idea.
We saw Mondo at the photo shoot for the advertorial, all done up in one of his Mondo outfits. Then the photo-shoot people totally tarted Mondo up with a manly hair-do and a suit. He looked quite stylish.
Mondo said he had $14 in his bank account when he left Colorado and was now quite happy to have $20,014 in his account. All of the designers seemed quite eager to win the $20,000, with Mondo saying that was more than the $12,000 he made last year.
It was Mondo, Gretchen and the annoying Hawaiian, Andy, in the Top 3. The OUT Ivy, Valerie and Michael Costello in the Bottom 3.
Michael C made this bizarre dress that had a 50 foot, or longer, tail trailing behind it. Valerie's looked like something I could make if you left me alone with a needle and some cloth for a day. Ivy's was just tacky looking and a really bad color of blue.
In the previews, for next week, the judges are mortified at what they see come down the runway, just like they are every week on Project Runway.

Project Runway: Casanova Out April Wins With Jackie O Next Week
The ratings for Project Runway jumped up last week, putting the show in the Top 15 of cable TV Shows. Apparently the ratings are up due to the buzz about the show's return to being entertaining due to the amusing episode of 2 weeks ago, the two team design a collection episode, that included an epic meltdown by Gretchen's team.Anyway, last night's Project Runway episode was a bit boring, at least for me. They had to design resort wear. Mondo repeated several times that he had never been to a resort, that a resort for him is being in his apartment in his underwear.
After the designers designed their resort wear and bought the materials, Tim Gunn tossed them a curve. Tim drew names out of a bag, pairing designers. The person the designer was paired with made the other designer's design, and vice versa.
Mondo was paired with Michael Costello and was real whiny about it. And then quickly figured out that Michael C was not the bad guy the others had made him out to be. By the end they seemed to be best friends, wrapped in each other's arms.
Mondo was in the Bottom 3 for a swimming suit that even I could tell was really bad.
Whiny Ivy was paired with the other Michael, he being Michael D. Michael D with the extremely annoying manner of speaking. Ivy dumbed down her design because she did not think Michael D could execute it. The end product even I could tell was really bad. Ivy was in the Bottom 3. While Michael D's resort wear, sewn by Ivy, was in the Top 3.
A lot of praise was heaped on April's swimsuit dress or whatever it was. I thought it looked real tacky. But what do I know about high fashion? Michael D's Top 3 number also seemed odd to me, with the judges liking it. Both April's and Michael D's were mostly or all black.
And then the Hawaiian, Andy, well, he made a swimsuit that looked good to me. I was sure he was the winner. But instead it was April's Fredericks of Hollywood resort wear that won.
I thought they were way too harsh over Casanova's resort wear. Saying it looked like something an old lady would wear. I've seldom seen any old ladies dressed in anything that stylish. Casanova is funny. He looks like a monkey, but he's funny. I think we may see Casanova on our TV screens again. He took being out real well, well, there was that moment when he tried to hang himself, but other than that, classy exit.
As for the other boy designers, I don't understand the bad personal taste of most of them, well some of them, regarding how they dress themselves and what they do with their hair. Andy for one. Is a mohawk fashion forward? And how does Mondo get his hair to do what it does? And why all the weird shirts and shorts some of the boys wear?
Now, the girls, they all seem to have good taste in the personal taste department.
Next week, I'm not sure, but it seems like they are designing something that Jackie Kennedy Onassis would wear. That seems a tad bizarre to me.

Project Runway: Michael Costello Wins Again While Peach is Out
I thought this week's episode of Project Runway would be more entertaining that it was, what with the bitch slapping of annoying Gretchen by an annoyed Tim Gunn at the end of last week's episode.Gretchen did some lamenting, called her mom, whined about wanting to go home, then decided to take the high road and turn her lemons into lemonade.
And then proceeded to once more be hyper-critical regarding the sewing skills of Michael Costello, who was driven to tears, the week before, by all the mean comments made by his teammates about his lack of sewing skills, that and being ignorant and lazy.
So, it was very satisfying, when after the Runway Show and after hearing the snarky comments of Gretchen about what an abomination Michael C's work was, after she and several others were told they were safe, with Gretchen sure Michael C was in the bottom, to, instead, have him win. Again.
On the bottom were Valerie Mayen, the other Michael, he being Michael D aka Michael Drummond and Peach Carr.
I forgot to mention, this week's challenge was to transform an ugly bridesmaid's dress into something fashionable. I worded that poorly. It's the dresses that were ugly, not the bridesmaids.
So, Gretchen, and some of the others, like the annoying Andy, are all just appalled that the judges do not see what a totally incompetent designer Michael C is. They keep saying he can not sew. So, how is Michael C holding those clothes he makes together if he is not sewing?
I was surprised it was Peach who got the boot. Valerie's transformed bridesmaid's dress was really embarrassing. Like something you'd find in a real trailer trashy version of a Victoria's Secret store. Michael D's was worse. He managed to make a pleasantly plump lady look even bigger and sort of ridiculous.
I wanted Michael D to get sent home so I'd not have to hear him speak anymore. Why would anyone choose to talk using such an affected, fake, stupid sounding voice? Does he not get enough testosterone?

Project Runway: Casanova Wins, A.J. Out
I was ready to bail on Project Runway after last week's bizarre episode where the designers had to design a look that went with a so-called hat made by an annoyingly pinched little man, who, apparently, is famous for making hats.Except.
They weren't hats. The hats were more like masks. It was all odd. And not entertaining, like the week before when the designers had to design a look out of junk they bought at a party favor store.
Michael Costello won the hat/mask challenge, giving him immunity this week. A week in which the designers competed on teams of 6.
Last week's winner got to pick first. He picked the female douchebag from Portland, Oregon, named Gretchen. Heidi then picked a name out of a bag. That name, Apriil, got to start the next team. On and on the picking went til Peach was left, by default on April's team.
So, Michael's team had all the winners, while April's team had the losers. Both teams took a different approach, with Michael's team quickly taken over by overbearing Gretchen.
Gretchen is one very odd, very annoying girl. I'd been looking forward to Gretchen getting her comeuppance. This episode delivered that comeuppance.
Gretchen dissed the other team's collection at the Runway Show. She did a lot of know it all, holier than thou, dissing. Usually when a lot of dissing is shown the disser ends up with ironic pie on their face. Gretchen ended up with an awful lot of pie on her face.
So, April's team wins. The judges heap praise. Eventually Casanova wins, which was also foreshadowed when he had a major diva moment, ready to give up and go home, because Tim Gunn had disliked what Casanova was doing. Again. Thus shattering what remained of Casanova's confidence. That and he was very upset because the show was making him fat.
Casanova is Reality TV Gold. That is an extremely flattering photo of Casanova at the top. In reality Casanova sort of looks like a monkey. A Puerto Rican monkey, who is funny, with a funny accent, saying stuff like, "Again Tim Gunn he break my heart, he saying I design for sluts and old ladies."
After Casanova won, the losing team comes out and gets a big dose of reality from the judges. Overbearing Gretchen does all the talking, then switched her spin, as if thinking no one would notice she was totally contradicting herself.
On and on Gretchen talked, pretty much throwing herself under the bus. Where she deserved to be.
But, in the end, with it down to Gretchen and A.J., it was A.J. Thouvenot who got the 2 cheek kiss from Heidi Klum.
And then it got even better, Gretchen comeuppance-wise. Back with the other designers, A.J. lamenting being out, oh the unfairness of it all, Tim Gunn comes in and interupts A.J., pretty much agreeing with him, and then addressing the others, telling them that Gretchen bullied and manipulated them.
So, Gretchen is annoying everyone, including the extremely nice, wise guy known as Tim Gunn. Ivy claimed Tim's words caused an ah ha moment for everyone. Methinks it is going to be fairly funny now, watching a deflated Gretchen, post-comeuppance. There is no way this was the first time in her life that Gretchen found herself on the receiving end of being put in her proper place.

Project Runway: Odd Boys, Normal Girls, Except Gretchen is Annoying & Andy Won This Week
I find Project Runway on Lifetime to be an entertaining reality show. I've not watched Project Runway for its start, only the last two or three seasons. When I read what Project Runway was about I did not see how it could be entertaining.Watching people make clothes? How could that be interesting?
Project Runway expanded this season to 90 minute episodes. This seems to allow for showing more of the interacting between the designers. And a longer period of the judges critiquing.
A reality show really is only as good as its characters. The permanent character of Tim Gunn is a good TV personality. Heidi Klum is a good host.
I don't quite understand why all but one of the guy designers wants to design clothes for women. The one self-described straight guy, Jason Troisi, now with him I could get the motivation. He had trouble dealing with his model's plus-sized boobs flustering him. Bare boobs do not fluster any of the other boys.
But, Jason Troisi was some sort of a joke. He could not make any clothes. I think I could have done better than he. Before he got cut, both items he made were held together by safety pins. On the Lifetime website, in their bios, all the clothesmakers say, in the "Profession" part, some variation of "Designer." Jason Troisi's says "Landscape designer (glorified lawn cutter)".
So, far this girl from Portland, Gretchen Jones, has won 2 out of the 3 challenges. This has turned her insufferable. She thinks the others don't mind her, so cutting from Gretchen blathering her delusions, to the others complaining about her was pretty funny.
The editing seems to be setting Gretchen up for a good comeuppance. That will be fun to watch.
Another funny one is the Puerto Rican, Casanova. He looks like a monkey. He makes really weird clothes. And when it comes time to talk to the judges his English gets really bad so he can hide behind the language barrier. I like Casanova.
Then there is this one called Mondo. Mondo Guerra. The judges seems to like what he does, but he is such an odd duck. This week he was in super short shorts looking very weird with big glasses.
The girls seem, for the most part, fairly normal, with good social skills. Except for Gretchen.
One of the guys, A.J., last name, Thouvenot, is a chatterbox, chatterboxing on and on about A.J. and his design ethic. Which apparently sucks. It was amusing to see him at the bottom after all that chattering.
The oldest of the designers is Peach Carr. Very likable. Last week she made a goofy polka dot dress. This week she fared better.
The winner this week was Andy. From Hawaii. Andy South. Odd little guy. This week they had to make their garments from party supplies. Andy made his out of ribbon. I tell you, it is amazing what some of these people are able to come up with.
So, was the landscape designer, Jason Troisi, put on Project Runway as some sort of joke? Or what?

Project Runway: Logan Is Out
I don't think I've admitted to watching Project Runway. I saw an occaisonal episode when the show was on Bravo. I've watched pretty much every episode of Project Runway since it's moved to Lifetime.
I like Top Chef due to the fact that I can cook and every once in awhile I learn something useful. I have no interest in fashion and the only time my hands have met a needle and thread was when I learned how to re-attach a button.
I think what makes Project Runway watchable to me is the utter bizarreness of watching these people be able to whip out an article of clothing in a really short period of time. And for those articles of clothing to be so goofy.
Like the Judy Jetson costume Logan Neitzel got cut for. Logan was shocked to get sent home, "for taking a risk and showing them something that's innovative and kind of out there."
Of Logan's outerspace suit, Heidi Klum said, "It looks like an outfit for a music video back in the '80s, but not even for the lead person!"
Althea Harper was the winner this week. The other two who made something that did not look weird were Irina Shabayeva and Carol Hannah Whitfield. Irina is a bit of a, well, bitch, according to the other designers. Irina thought Althea was copying her, while Althea was sure Logan was copying Althea. All that copy talk was amusing.
The other 2 who joined Logan, as the worst of the week, were Christopher Straub for his humongous Scarlett O'hara at a ball monstrosity that funny hostess, Heidi Klum said looked like it was dragging a bed skirt along with it. The designer from what used to be Yugoslavia, Gordana Gehlhausen, made a gray thing that had judge Nick Verreos saying it "looks like an office worker in Warsaw, Poland."
The girl designers seem to have better taste than the boys, both in what they make and how they make themselves look. Christopher has this bizarre beard thing going that looks like a chinstrap. All the boys had unfortunate haircuts. I don't think we've seen any of the girls driven to tears. Christopher had a breakdown the first time the judges did not like one of his odd creations.
Project Runway often brings to mind one of the best I Love Lucy episodes. Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel were in Paris. Lucy and Ethel wanted a dress from a famous Parisian designer. Ricky and Fred said no. The girls pouted. Ricky and Fred then had dresses made from burlap bags and bought feedbags for hats. Gave the designer clothes to Lucy and Ethel, telling them they were the latest, from next year's collection of the famous designer.
Lucy and Ethel proceded to strut around town in their new outfits. Ricky and Fred felt guilty about what they'd done and fessed up. The episode ended where it started, sitting at the same outdoor cafe patio where they'd first seen the famous designer and his models. And now at the end here comes the designer and the models again. Wearing various versions of dresses made out of burlap and feedbags for hats.
