Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon are the proud new parents of a baby girl and boy.
The 41-year-old singer gave birth to her twins on Saturday, the same day she and her husband were celebrating their third wedding anniversary. Carey’s representative told the Associated Press that the singer gave birth at a Los Angeles hospital. The first to be born was a 5 pound and 3 ounces baby girl. The baby boy, who was a little heavier than his sister at 5 pounds 6 ounces, came next. The rep, Cindi Berger, said the couple has yet to name the twins.
Berger said that Carey was calm as her husband brought her to the hospital. It was Cannon who was actually nervous, Berger said. According to the rep, Cannon, 30, even went to a different direction instead of going to the maternity ward. “When they walked into the hospital, [Nick] was going the wrong way and the nurse redirected them to go the maternity ward, and I said to her, ‘that’s right out of I Love Lucy,’ and she laughed,” Berger said.
