Ex-Wrestler “Macho Man” Randy Savage Dies in Accident

Former wrestler Randall Mario Poffo, popularly known as “Macho Man” Randy Savage, has died in car accident. He was 58.

The many times wrestling champion died early Friday when he lost control of his car while driving in Tampa, Fla. TMZ said in a report that Savage suffered a heart attack, before he lost control of the vehicle, which was also carrying the wrestler’s wife, Lyn. The Florida Highway Patrol said Savage was brought to Largo Medical Center, but the wrestling star eventually succumbed to his injuries. His wife suffered only minor injuries, police said.

Savage was known in the ring for his flashy costumes, which included sunglasses, headband, and cowboy hat. He won 20 championships during his long wrestling career, which included stints with the then-World Wrestling Federation and its successor the World Championship Wrestling. Savage also wrestled for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling for a short time before retiring in 2005.
