Well as Burke said: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. "

Nipsy, you seem to be in a world of your own here. You're not paying attention to what people are saying and doing on this board and simply believing that you're right because you're a shareholder. I could buy a single share in Apple, but it doesn't mean that i'm going to be right about everything i think Apple should do.

If you want Apple to continue to be "behind" (is that a gentle enough word for you?) in the hardware sector, then that's fine.

But the FACT is that most Apple users, DON'T. They want to see Apple competing with PC hardware properly. Apple is already such a small part of the market and IMO, they need to increase speed to

Have you ever heard of the phrase "Give the people what they want" ? Well most people want speed and numbers.

And anyone who has said "I like your style, Nipsy" in this thread, no you don't, you just like the fact that he's defending your precious Macs. You guys whine and complain about what Apple's needs to do right, but as soon as someone points out that Apple is doing something wrong, you suddenly completely disagree with the very points that you yourselves were making. It's pretty pathetic.

His approach is not the most mature. My guess is that he has a better job lined up and simply used his departure to get some notoriety. Grow up!

    DLC looks cool...

I finally made it to the final level on my legendary run. I am still confounded by how much the difficulty level varies so much from battle to battle. Anyway almost done!

I just saw the video about the hack in cNet. David Maynor used a third party wireless card to do the hack. My question is Why did he used a third party card?

Why use a third party card while the Macbook has built-in wireless already. Can he hack the built-in wireless card? It looks like that he cannot hack the built-in card so he used a third party card. My other question is Who would buy a third party wireless card for the MacBook? By doing so, makes no sense. I would like him to show us a video hacking the Macbook using Macbooks airport card.

    Hum this is brilliant marketing.
The subscription price serves as an anchor price that makes you feel the regular price is cheaper, hence more buying are expected at regular price.

What people don't understand is that the rental prices are beneficial for new startup design firms or freelance creative professionals to get started right away in an affordable price UNTIL they have money or better credit to make a full purchase by that time. Adobe, I think, is doing the right thing here.

I do not condone piracy or stealing off Adobe products JUST because they're expensive. The software is NOT a kiddie doodle app for hobbyists. This is PRO level we are talking here.

I think one of the greatest flaws in the wireless is that the only use I can see is between friends, I have a wireless MP3 Player already (called a macbook, it's a litttle smaller than the zune ;) ) and in a CS seminar someone bluetoothed me a song, now as a Maths student I don't know the Comp Sci people so I'd never spoken to before so I rejected it, I can't believe I'd do any different if I had a Zune, unless I knew them, in which case I might as well go round with my iPod to their house ;).

But you are not required to upgrade OS X all the time. Hmmmm, maybe some people should start to look at Linux by now. With Ubuntu folks could get two upgrades every year, and they are 100% free :).

That's true. If you skip a OS X release, you're still fine. Skip Vista and you'll probably be a decade behind at some point. But it's almost a given to purchase OS upgrades whenever given (as long as some major features are given) because your entire working environment is in the OS. Anyways, I think it's just important to view a Vista purchase as being the equivalent of at least two OS X releases, so saying that Vista is $239 and OS X is $129 - and thus, that Vista is more expensive - is not completely true.

I'm afraid to touch Linux :( I don't even know what it looks like, how it works, or what runs on it.

AGAIN, let me restate the following:

    - Brazil has one of the most expensive workforces in the world - please don't think that the world's second-biggest Western democracy is the same as an Asian sweatshop - Apple or Foxconn are NOT going there because of cheap labor - it's a much more strategic reason, along with lower logistical costs;

    - Upper-level salaries in Brazil are ALREADY higher than in the US or Europe, for reasons of economic growth and increased demand for skilled positions. A C-level executive in BR earns an average of $520,000, as opposed to some $400,000 in the US and Europe.

HAHAHHA are you retarded? Of all places with such high division of upper and lower class you are going to use Brazil when comparing to the US? C-Levels will not be the ones on the factory floor. Spend 5 seconds on google and you are going to see a much different view in terms of labour cost. In fact I'm a little disappointed you would even argue that cheap labour is not one of the benefits of Brazil. You must be out of touch. FYI monthly salary will be wayy south of $500/month. Hate to tell you this but Foxconn is the highest exporter in % of GDP for ALL of China (I think they proven their competency.).. and well...you are an arm chair president with tons of misinformation.

There are still more than 500 Radio Shack's left? Can't believe they're not out of business yet lol!

I'm surprised they are still in business as well. They've been around a long time, I remember they used to be the place to get batteries. They are just like the Energizer bunny, they just keep going and going... Good for them for staying in the game.

Yippee! If only they had an improved video card.

Almost always, a more powerful video card equals more heat and shorter battery life. I can completely understand the decision behind keeping the current card.

Sorry, that is utter crap. My best friend in grade school was raised completely without religion, and he is the nicest person in the world. Meanwhile, there are copious and abundant examples of self-centered, amoral, greedy bastards preaching jesus to the masses: if religion cannot help them, what value is it?

It's not a question of "helping" but rather "using"...

There are many possibilities for the graphics of the Macbook. The GMA950 is at about the end of the road. Maybe we'll see Intel's X3000. If not, one of Nvidia's or ATi's integrated solutions would be nice.

I hope we see the Intel X3000 in the next MacBook. The GMA950 is crippling the MacBook and Mac Mini; it offers mediocre 3D performance, requires a portion of system memory and does not support widescreen resolutions for composite output. The X3000 would not solve the memory issue but it will improve 3D and maybe support widescreen analogue output.

IMHO the white leaves different marks that are just as back...after awhile ull get a bunch of scuff marks that make the finish look more greyish brown...this is why i hated iBooks

I've never seen an iBook that looked grey even after all the scuffing. I've got an iBook and it still looks white under all lighting conditions.

    Don't blame Adobe for speed

Adobe didn't write Flash. Macromedia did. Adobe bought Macromedia a few years ago (mostly because they thought Microsoft was going to) and has had to rework their products.

Adobe is redoing Flash for mobile

Which is a good thing. Adobe is working with ARM cpu and gpu makers to create this new Flash 10 for mobile devices.

    The real Internet uses Flash

Don't get us started again on the webpages (NY Times, National Geographic) that Apple has retouched the Flash out of, before public demos, to hide the fact that Safari can't show them completely.

    HTML5 won't stop popup ads

If the W3C hadn't screwed around for so many years, HTML5 could've been more adopted by now. Heck, is there even a video playback codec standard yet?

In any case, ad companies will always figure out something, whether it's Flash, DHTML, or whatever.

Don't like it? Most likely will have a switch

Who doesn't think that Flash would be an option that the user can turn off?
