Diversity is Britain's Got Talent 2009 Winner - Diversity Upstages Susan Boyle in BGT Finale

You might be wondering who won Britain's Got Talent 2009 Finals Night? Well, the BGT results are in! The 11 member dance group upstaged Internet sensation Susan Boyle to become the 2009 Britain's Got Talent Winner. Diversity bagged the most number of votes in Britain's Got Talent (BGT) audience polls May 30 (5/30/09). On the other hand, Susan Boyle the 47 year old singer from Blackburn placed 1st runner up, while saxophonist Julian Smith placed 2nd runner up.

Susan Boyle Appears Happy Losing To Diversity
It is quite a surprise how Diversity outlasted hugely-popular Susan Boyle in her bid be the one who'll perform in the Royal Variety Show, but it seems Diversity won in their unique and craftily-made dance number that won people's votes. Susan Boyle showed that she’s a good sport because she acknowledged that “the best people won the competition”. Don’t worry Susan, like Adam Lambert in American Idol, you’ll certainly go places even if you’re just the first runner up! Below is Diversity's winning performance that made them win BGT 2009:

Diversity Joins Susan Boyle in 2009 Britain's Got Talent Finals - Diversity BGT May 24 Performance Video

An 11 member dance group called Diversity, composed of male dancers 12 to 25 year olds from Essex and East London, was chosen by the judges over a 10 year old singer Natalie Okri in Britain's Got Talent Semi-finals Show May 24 (5/24/09). Piers Morgan chose Diversity, while Amanda Holden chose Natalie, so it was Simon Cowell who called the shots and picked Diversity to perform in the BGT Finals show next Saturday May 30.

Too bad for Natalie Okri, who’s from South London, as she was obviously upset about the judges' decision. Out of the 40 semifinalists, Britain's Got Talent 2009 have already eliminated 6 performers:
  • Darth Jackson - 27 year old Michael Jackson and Darth Vader impersonator impersonator
  • Faces of Disco - comedy dance duo
  • Julia Naidenko - 24 year old Latvian belly dancer
  • Natalie Okri - 10 year old singer
  • Nick Hell - a street performer duo
  • Sue Son - a 24 year old South Korean violinist
After Susan Boyle and Diversity, eight more finalists will be chosen daily in Britain's Got Talent Semifinal Shows this week. The ten finalists will battle it out in the BGT Finals show, which is also incidentally Britain's annual Royal Variety Show to be attended by the Queen and her family, this Saturday May 30 (5/30/09) and a chance to win the prize of £100,000 ($159,000).
