As soon as the news hit that Rachel Weisz and director Darren Aronofsky were dunzo, the rumor mill went into overdrive about Daniel Craig. A report claims that Weisz had become extraordinarily close to the hunky James Bond actor while filming director Jim Sheridan's Dream House. However... Have a close read at the report because it doesn't actually say there's a secret romance going on. And there's good reason why. A source insists Weisz and Craig are not having an affair. "Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz have been friends since their theater years when they were younger," a source says. "They are the best of friends, but not lovers."

Rachel Weisz & Darren Aronofsky Split

Rachel Weisz, the 40-year-old Mummy star, and her boyfriend of 9 years, the 41-year-old director and producer Darren Aronofsky, have split up.

Weisz and Aronofsky began dating in 2001 and got engaged in 2005. They have a 4-year-old son, Henry Chance, born in May 2006.

TMZ was first to report the news of their breakup.

“Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky have been separated for some months. They remain close friends and are committed to raising their son together in NYC.” a rep for the two said in a joint statement.

No reason has been given for the split.
