Walking Dead Board Game: The Perfect Summer Excuse to Stay Inside

All of our favorite nerd pursuits combined into one product.

Just when I thought I was going to die of nerve explosion while waiting for the next season of AMC's The Walking Deadcomic-to-tv adaptation, Z-Man Games and author Robert Kirkman's Skybound Entertainment announced a joint venture to bring the very first Walking Dead board game to retail this summer.

We don't have very many details about gameplay beyond the general idea: beating up zombies, trying to live, collecting supplies, and so forth--pretty standard fare that with this license is going to be pretty awesome.

Robert Kirkman heartily endorses it, and he ain't no shmuck: "I've always loved board games, but never knew they could be this cool! We've done test plays of The Walking Dead board game at the office, and the game play scenarios ring true to what Rick and the other survivors face in the comic book. I couldn't be more impressed with Z-Man Games."

The game will be for 1-6 players, which means you can even play the board game based on the zombie comic book all by your lonesome, officially becoming the saddest image in the entire world. Though if this game plays out anything like Z-Man's amazing storytelling game Tales of the Arabian Nights, everything will be just fine.

The Awesome Gross Chick From Bridesmaids Announces Two Projects

The Bridesmaids scene-stealer is doubling-down with two new comedies.

When I first reviewed Bridesmaids I was so swept up with Kristen Wiig's performance (the best film comedienne since Madeline Kahn) that there were few column inches left to talk about the other performances.

As I exited the SXSW premiere, however, I recall saying to friends that "if it were a just world, Melissa McCarthy would be starring in films of her own."

Well, there's nothing like a movie overshooting its estimates (it made $25 million at the box office this weekend) and receiving near-universal praise to make miracles happen.

Deadline reports that McCarthy is teaming with Bridesmaids co-writer Annie Mumolo on a quest movie to steal the Stanley Cup for her dying husband. The husband will be played by McCarthy's actual husband, Ben Falcone, who plays the object of McCarthy's affection in the soon-to-be-if-not-already airplane scene in Bridesmaids.

What disgusting things are in store for this noble vessel?
Entertainment Weekly is also reporting that Bridesmaids director Paul Feig is setting up a project for McCarthy to star in.  Nothing is yet known, except for the quote pulled in The Film Stage's article, "“If an actress like Melissa becomes a huge star? THAT is a world I want to live in.”
McCarthy uglied herself a bit for the role in Bridesmaids, but no matter how you slice it she has "unconventional Hollywood looks."  To that end, we must all do what we can to support Ms. McCarthy and her career.  Because she's really effing funny and we need more of that.

Facebook Buying Out Skype?

Facebook Buying Out Skype? $4 Billion Deal Being Talked About

See who Mark Zuckerberg is after these days. We hear the Facebook CEO is eyeing the takeover of the much popular Skype. If the grapevine is true to what it manages to churn out, Facebook might end up buying out Skype for a price close to $4 billion.
Facebook Buying Out Skype? $4 Billion Deal Being Talked About
Some observers out there firmly believe some sort of action is actually happening, but then that doesn’t mean there is a take over bid. They feel that the deal may not be a buy out, but a joint venture between Facebook and Skype.
We need not tell you that Skype and Facebook have been associated with each other for some time now.  If you would remember, Facebook had been in the scheme of things at Skype and this was demonstrated by Skype when they rolled out their version 5.0 software for Windows.
The software had a dedicated Facebook tab so as to enable users to chat or call Facebook friends via Skype. This was in fact made possible right from “the Facebook newsfeed which can be viewed from within the Skype application”.
By the way, if you are looking at going into what the $4 billion ‘possible’ takeover would bring to Skype, let us also take you to a situation where Skype had been mulling over an IPO. If you would remember, the Skype IPO was recently delayed by its new CEO until the second half of 2011. And that public offer would have brought to the Skype coffers only around $1 billion. Considering such a scene, the Facebook move, if at all that bears fruit, could mean a lot to Skype. We also hear Google too is looking at a venture with Skype. More details are awaited.
What do you think about the Facebook plan for acquiring Skype?  Send in your views.

Levi Johnston Twitters Another Slap Back at Sarah Palin Over Palin's Upcoming Memoir's Attacks on Levi

You are looking at Levi Johnston and Sarah Palin back during better times when they were a bit more friendly with each than they are today.

This morning when I looked at Twitter I saw that overnight Levi was once more hitting back at his one time future mother-in-law.

That catalyst of Levi's latest Tweeting about Todd Palin's wife were details from Sarah's, what Levi called "tell-little" memoir, in which Sarah spends a lot of ink, apparently, on a vitriolic attack on Levi.

Levi Tweets umbrage over Sarah calling him a "bald face liar."

I'll copy some of Levi's Tweets from Twitter below...

"Sarah Palin who received a whopping $7 million advance - is using Going Rogue: An American Life to strike back at Levi Johnston."

"In her upcoming book, angry Sarah fires back, says the publishing insider."

"She defends her marriage to Todd, saying they are happy together."

"Palin's "tell-little" book whitewashes her controversial background and family life, according to the publishing source."

"If you think you're going to learn the down-and-dirty details of her rumored messy marriage, think again because you're wrong."

"Gov Sarah Palin's new memoir is nothing more than a vitriolic attack on Levi Johnston."

"It's also a renewed attack on me, calling me 'a liar' once again for all the claims i made against her after breaking up w/ Bristol."

"She writes that ima 'bald-face liar.' says im bitter at the breakup, and is trying to earn a fast buck at the ex-governor's expense."

"$50k per speech, Sarah could earn as much as $11 million for her memoirs. (Reuters) Alaska governor makes $125k annually."

There you have it, Levi Johnston's Twitter Tweeting slap back at Sarah Palin.

Elizabeth Taylor Tweets on Twitter about her Heart Operation

Yesterday I blogged about Levi Johnston as an example of how I finally found some entertainment value in Twitter.

Yesterday I also learned that Elizabeth Taylor has taken to Twittering. I mean Tweeting. Elizabeth Taylor is my favorite living movie star.

I clicked on Elizabeth's "Follow" button, which makes me a follower of Elizabeth Taylor's Tweets.

It was from Elizabeth's Twittering that I learned she had a heart operation yesterday. This would be another example of how Twitter is a new form of media, like when Twitter was used to get info out about the unrest in Iran.

And Elizabeth is using Twitter to counter misinformation in the press about her hospital stay.

I'll copy Elizabeth's Tweets about her heart in oldest to newest order, with the newest being just a few minutes ago, which would seem to indicate Elizabeth is doing well....

Dear Friends, I would like to let you know before it gets in the papers that I am going into the hospital to have a procedure on my heart.

It's very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery, so that my heart will function better.

Any prayers you happen to have lying around I would dearly appreciate. I'll let you know when it's all over. Love you, Elizabeth

Dear Friends, I was completely honest with you about my hospitalization. Now the press, bless their little hearts, had to add something by saying that I had diabetes, which is a total lie. But I guess they can't help themselves. Talk to later as promised. Love, Elizabeth

Levi Johnston is a Tweeting King

I tell you, when I first looked at Twitter I had no idea what use it was. Then I discovered there is amusement to be found in Twitterland.

Let's take the Twittering, I mean Tweeting, of Levi Johnston on Twitter.

Yesterday a Pistachio commercial came out with Levi eating one of the nuts.

So, Levi Tweeted, "Levi Johnston, America's favorite babydaddy, advocates putting his nuts to good use."

Levi also Tweeted, "Jay Leno's CHIN looks like my NUTS!!!"

And, "I told ya you would see my salty NUTS by the end of the year..."

Levi went out drinking at Mac's Sport Bar. The next morning Levi Tweeted, "any hangover cures????"

And then he Tweeted, "LMAO...sweaty sex is the best hangover cure...too bad I have no one to practice on. So aspirin & coke will do."

Levi has done several Tweets about his would-be mother-in-law, like this one, "remember Sarah P. wanted to adopt our kid and pass it on as hers in order to fulfill her abstinence nonsense rule..."

And, also about Sarah, "told ya' I was right about palin's resignation over a book deal $$$$$----I said it first back in JUNE & I was called a liar!!"

Levi was asked how much he got paid for taking his clothes off for Playgirl magazine, to which Levi Tweeted, "let's just say its the price of a house."

Regarding accusations that he is being used by the Democrats to embarrass Sarah Palin and the Republicans, Levi Tweeted, "And no. I am not being used by the democrats...I just opened my eyes."

I really like this gem of a Tweet from Levi. "In Roman Times Blonde people were considered dirty and infested with lice."

An interesting Tweeting from Levi about Lady Gaga, "Lady Gaga has the biggest ass I've seen on a white girl."

And finally, Levi makes an interesting allegation about David Letterman, Tweeting "I was pretty drunk, but I think Letterman had his way with me too (Levi's profanity edited), where's the line to cash in?"

Mike Leach - Texas Tech Coach Bans Twitter Use for Football Team

Too bad, Texas Tech team are taboo-ed to use Twitter! That's not an alliteration joke but it's actually true - Coach Mike Leach from the Texas Tech Red Raiders has issued a ban of using the online micro-blogging platform craze because his tardiness in their meeting was broadcasted to the world. Yesterday, the Texas Tech team lost to Houston Cougars with a score of 29-28. Leach's late arrival during their Sunday meeting was blamed by everyone as the cause of their loss.
Texas Tech Coach Mike Leach Bans Twitter
The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reported that it was the Texas Tech linebacker named Marlon Williams who first tweeted on his account on why he was stuck in their meeting room as "the head coach can't even be on time." This controversial message on Twitter has now been deleted. Now, after their loss, the lineman Brandon Carter bitterly snapped "This is not how I saw our season" in his Twitter account. For this, Brandon Carter was suspended indefinitely for the alleged violation of team rules and now his Twitter has disappeared in the Twit-sphere altogether. Now that's tough luck for those supposed-to-be private grumblings. If you want to read more about this story, check out ESPN.
