Adam Lambert is a crowd pleaser, even before his stint in American Idol Season 8. Adam's theater background revealed that he grabbed two roles in big theater productions - Wicked and The Ten Commandments. In Wicked, which is a prequel to the Wizard of Oz, Adam Lambert played an understudy of the show's leading man Fieryo. Adam joined the Wicked cast in 2005 until October 2008. In an Associated Press interview, Bernard Telsey admitted that Adam gained a wow from him as he realized that "Oh my God, this guy has the highest range!". However, Adam garnered more raves to his role as Joshua in the pop rock musical The Ten Commandments, where Val Kilmer played the lead role as Moses. See Adam Lambert's performance "Is Anybody Listening" from The Ten Commandments after the jump.
The Los Angeles production of The Ten Commandments was not exactly approved by critics because The New York Times found it "bland, static, overproduced and underdirected", while The Los Angeles Times recounted that the play "has the power to leave an epiphany-seeking theatergoer speechless." Yet, the two papers clearly noticed Adam as the play's ""most consistent crowd-wower." Now, that he's on the American Idol Final Two, will his "wowing power" propel him up to be the American Idol Season 8 winner? Anyway, just watch this pre-American Idol Adam Lambert as he belts out "Is Anybody Listening" while playing the role of Joshua:
