After a tough loss at Regionals, the glee club is back as the underdogs of McKinley High. When the school is faced with even more budget cuts, Mr. Schuester pushes the kids to help recruit new members for the club. Rachel and Finn disagree on new recruits, and aren’t sure they will be able to come together in perfect harmony in the season premiere episode “Auditions.”

Ryan Murphy, the Glee series creator, said that the episode is about “the idea that everybody’s daily life is an audition for something.” In this season premiere, Heather Morris (“Brittany”), Naya Rivera (“Santana”), and Mike O’Malley (“Burt Hummel”) have been promoted to series regulars. Recurring characters will include Chord Overstreet as Sam Evans who is introduced as an athletic protégé of glee club member Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith) but later becomes his rival, and Charice as Sunshine Corazon who plays a foreign exchange student who will become a rival to Rachel Berry (Lea Michele).

The second season of the musical comedy-drama television series GLEE premieres on September 21, 2010 on Fox at 8 pm (ET) on Tuesdays, then moves to the 9 pm (ET) time slot on Wednesdays after a special episode following the 2011 Super Bowl. It will be aired via sattelite in the Philippines (around 4:00 p.m. of September 22) on Jack TV.

Glee is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Ryan Murphy Television, with series creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk as executive producers, alongside Dante Di Loreto.
