It looks like the folks over at Star magazine may have actually been the ones on something when they decided to run a cover story that insinuated Katie Holmes was addicted to drugs.
Tom Cruise's better half has reached a settlement with the tabloid's publisher, American Media, Inc., after Holmes filed a $50 million lawsuit against the company for putting out an issue that read "Addiction Nightmare—Katie Drug Shocker—The Real Reason She Can't Leave Tom."

Holmes' PR firm announced in a statement today that the monetary terms of the deal are confidential, but the following apology appears in the May 9 issue of Star along with a line that reads "Star Apologizes to Katie Holmes—Inside" on its cover.
"In a recent issue of Star, we published headlines about Katie Holmes that could be read to suggest that she was addicted to drugs. Star did not intend to suggest that Ms. Holmes was a drug addict or was undergoing treatment for a drug addiction. Star apologizes to Ms. Holmes for any misperception and will be making a substantial donation to charity on Ms. Holmes' behalf for any harm that we may have caused."
Holmes, herself, also released a statement, and it's pretty obvious she's just glad to have this whole thing behind her.
"I'm pleased that this lawsuit could be resolved amicably and accept American Media's apology," she said. "With this dispute out of the way, I look forward to once again focusing my attention on my family and career."
