American Idol Results 4/15/09 - Matt Giraud Saved by the Judges!

There was a major shocker in American Idol Results show April 15 2009 (04/15/2009)! Matt Giraud was the lucky one to be saved after he got the LEAST number of votes in the Songs from the Cinema week! The other finalists in the Bottom 3 were Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds.
Matt Giraud Saved American Idol 4-15
What do you think? Does Matt Giraud deserve his "save" prize from the judges? I think he's getting voted off anyway as Simon confirmed he has NO CHANCE of winning American Idol Season 8!

Lil Rounds April 14 "The Rose" American Idol Top 7 Performance

Lil Rounds sang a Bette Midler original "The Rose" from a 1979 film of the same title in the American Idol April 14 (4/14) Performance. The song came out gospel-ish and pitchy! Simon Cowell did not like it at all, although Paula said it was okay. Lil Rounds reasoned out with Simon, but I believe the judge has a point. I think we'll be seeing her in the Bottom 3 again tomorrow!
Lil Rounds 4-14 The Rose American Idol Top 7
The Rose by Bette Midler Lyrics

Some say love, it is a river
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
that leaves your sould to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
and you it's only seed.
It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
that never takes the chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
who cannot seem to give,
and the sould afraid of dyin'
that never learns to live.
When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been to long,
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong,
just remember in the winter
far beneath the winter snows
lies the seed that with the sun's love
in the spring becomes the rose.

Kris Allen April 14 "Falling Slowly" American Idol Top 7 Performance

Kris Allen performed "Falling Slowly" by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová from the film Once (2007) in the American Idol April 14 (4/14) Performance. Mixed reactions from the judges. Randy said it was pitchy and the song choice was weird because he selected a lesser known song compared to other finalists. Kara, however, thought it was one of Kris Allen's best performance yet.
Kris Allen 4-14 Falling Slowly
Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard Lyrics

I don’t know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can’t react
And games that never amount
To more than they’re meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You’ve made it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can’t go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I’m painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It’s time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You’ve made it now

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You’ve made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I’ll sing along

Danny Gokey 4/14 "Endless Love" American Idol Top 7 Performance

Danny Gokey sang a Lionel Richie and Diana Ross duet "Endless Love" from the film of the same title in the American Idol 04/14/09 Performance. Sadly, not Danny's night tonight because he had some bad notes galore. Paula though that the key should have been made lower Simon voiced out that “We know you are a brilliant singer, but I’m disappointed that we had the harp on stage and a traditional version.” Simon though Danny was a poor David Cook wannabe who changed up a Lionel Richie song last year.
Danny Gokey 4-14 Endless Love
Endless Love by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie Lyrics

My love
There's only you in my life
The only thing that's right

My first love
You're every breath that I take
You're every step I make

And I
I want to share
All my love with you
No one else will do
And your eyes
They tell me how much you care
Oh yes
You will always be
My endless love

Two hearts
Two hearts that beat as one
Our lives have just begun
And forever
I'll hold you close in my arms
I can't resist your charms

And love
I'd play the fool
For you
I'm sure
You know I don't mind
'Cause baby
You mean the world to me
I know I've found in you
My endless love

And love
I'd play the fool
For you
I'm sure
That you know I don't mind
'Cause baby
You'll be the only one
'Cause no one can deny
This love I have inside
And I'll give it all to you
My love My love, my love
My endless love

Matt Giraud April 14 "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman" American Idol Top 7 Performance

Matt Giraud sang Bryan Adam's "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman' from the film Don Juan DeMarco in the American Idol April 14 (4/14) Performance. Kara and Randy did not love it. Randy said "When you hit the bridge it was off… You can’t do all that stuff with a simple melody…not one of your best.” Kara thought that “It’s the struggle between Rock vs. Soul”
.
Matt Giraud 4-14 Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman

Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman by Bryan Adams Lyrics

To really love a woman
To understand her - you gotta know it deep inside
Hear every thought - see every dream
N' give her wings - when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman you tell her
that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?

To really love a woman
Let her hold you -
til ya know how she needs to be touched
You've gotta breathe her - really taste her
Til you can feel her in your blood
N' when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman
you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that you'll always be together
So tell me have you ever really -
really really ever loved a woman?

You got to give her some faith - hold her tight
A little tenderness - gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin' good care of you
Ya really gotta love your woman...

Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?

Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman? You got to tell me
Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman?

Adam Lambert 4/14 "Born To Be Wild" American Idol Top 7 Performance

Adam Lambert performed “Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf from the film Easy Rider (1969) in the American Idol 4-14-09 Performance. Paula cheered and was obviously thrilled about it. Paula enthused “You dare to dance in the path of greatness… You’re one of the bravest contestants I ever witnessed”. Simon thought “Vocally incredible…it was a little bit like watching the Rocky Horror Musical in parts.”
Adam Lambert 4-14 Born to be Wild

Steppenwolf - Born To Be Wild lyrics

Get your motor running
Head out on the highway
Looking for adventure
In whatever comes our way

Yeah, darling
Gonna make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once and
Explode into space

I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racing in the wind
And the feeling that I'm under

Yeah, darling
Gonna make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once and
Explode into space

Like a true nature child
We were born
Born to be wild
We have climbed so high
Never want to die
Born to be wild
Born to be wild

Anoop Desai April 14 "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" American Idol Top 7 Performance

Anoop Desai sang Bryan Adam's Everything I Do (I Do It For You) from the film Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves in American Idol April 14 (4/14) Performance. Kara and Randy both loved Anoop's performance
Anoop Desai 4-14 Everything I Do I Do It For You
Everything I Do (I Do It For You)Lyrics

Look into my eyes - you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you'll search no more

Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

Look into my heart - you will find
There's nothin' there to hide
Take me as I am - take my life
I would give it all - I would sacrifice

Don't tell me it's not worth fightin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
Ya know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

There's no love - like your love
And no other - could give more love
There's nowhere - unless you're there
All the time - all the way

Oh - you can't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
I would fight for you - I'd lie for you
Walk the wire for you - ya I'd die for you

Ya know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

Allison Iraheta April 14 "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" American Idol Top 7 Performance

Allison Iraheta sings Aerosmith's “I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" from the film Armaggeddon in the American Idol 04-14-09 Performance. Paula thought Allison posseses "the same special sauce as Adam" and…she doesn't compromise her authenticity. Simon thinks she's the only remaining hope for the girls
Allison Iraheta 4 14 I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing
Allison's performance was good and I think she nailed it well enough to avoid bottom 3 tomorrow!
I Don't Want to Miss a Thing Lyrics

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
Far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Well, every moment spent with you
Is a moment I treasure

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

Lying close to you
Feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we're together
And I just wanna stay with you
In this moment forever, forever and ever

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

I don't wanna miss one smile
I don't wanna miss one kiss
Well, I just wanna be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just wanna hold you close
Feel your heart so close to mine
And stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time

American Idol 4/14 - Who Will Rise Above in the "Songs of the Cinema" Theme?

American Idol Performance Night is again in the offing April 14 (04/14/09)! Like you, I am wondering what song choices might the A.I. Top 7 finalists are selecting under the theme "Songs of the Cinema" with the critically-acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino as their mentor.
American Idol April 14 Top 7 Performances
Honestly, tonight's theme can be quite tricky for the American Idol Top 7 finalists because their favorite movie's theme song might not just be the right choice for them. I guess Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai should be doubling their efforts this week because obviously they didn't fare well last week as they landed in the Bottom 3! I would really like to see Anoop take on some vocally challenging song that will highlight his capability -- Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" might fit him. Lil Rounds failed in her Tina Turner mimicry last week, I guess Lil might want to do a Barbra Streisand or Whitney Houston - I dunno because I think she's losing her sparkle as the American Idol Season 8 advances. So there, who might do well or who might seal their fate in the American Idol Top 7 Performances April 14? It's for us to find out tonight!
