Lohan To Be Charged Over Alleged Necklace Theft
According to TMZ.com, the Los Angeles County District Attorney is expected to file the case against the actress on Monday following an investigation into the missing item, which was reportedly turned over to police by one of the star's associates last week (ends04Feb11).
Surveillance video from the store shows Lohan with the piece of jewellery in question on 22 January, and there are photos of her wearing what appears to be the same necklace a week later.
If convicted, the Mean Girls star faces a return to prison - for a maximum of three years.
The actress is planning to fight the charge and maintains she took the item on loan.
Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, says in a statement, "We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press."

Dina Lohan Admits Lindsay Lohan Is an Addict
In an interview with Today's Matt Lauer, Dina described her famous daughter, who is being treated at the Betty Ford Center in California, as "happy [and] relaxed."
"She's just a different person," Dina said. "She's been in a couple facilities, but this one to me has really changed her."
Dina had previously defended Lindsay on the Today show, instead placing blame on the judge in her case. When asked on Monday by Lauer why she was unwilling to admit Lindsay had a problem in the past, Dina said, "That was for Lindsay to admit. As a mother it wasn't for me to come to tell the world … about her problem."
"That was for her to do," she said. "I wasn't in denial."
Dina also somewhat revised her opinion about her daughter's tumultuous relationship with her father, Michael Lohan, saying she thinks it would be good for the two to reconnect.
When asked about online reports of an emotional reunion with Michael, Dina said she supported "whatever the facility wishes for her. It's all about Lindsay and her healing."
As to what will happen to her daughter, who has relapsed numerous times, once she is released from rehab on Jan. 3, Dina is cautiously optimistic.
"We take it one day at a time," she said. "Addiction is difficult. I don't know. I don't have a crystal ball. I pray hard ... We can only be positive and look to the future to help other families."

Lindsay Lohan: Pokes Fun at Financial Woes (Video)
Lindsay Lohan, who is currently serving a three-month stint instead of sending back to jail, pokes fun at the recent rumors that she can’t afford rehab in a mocking public service announcement (PSA) in support of the American Jewish World Service.
Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to stay at California's Betty Ford clinic until January 3rd after failing two court-ordered drug tests. Reports claimed that Lindsay can’t afford the $53,000 bill for her rehabilitation because she "can not afford" it.
In the Judd Apatow-directed video which also featuring Ben Stiller, Jerry Seinfeld, and Andy Samberg, the 24-year-old actress says,"Hi, I'm Lindsay Lohan and I'm not Jewish but I am happy to be here. These things pay well, right?"
