Larry King ending his CNN show after 25 years

The iconic television interviewer, Larry King, has announced that he will be stepping down from hosting his show this fall.

King, 76, made the announcement from his Twitter account. ‘Larry King Live’ started 25 years ago and holds the record for being the longest running show with the same host in the same time slot by the Guinness Book of World Records.

The host said that he has made the decision so that he can spend more time with his wife and young children.

Part of the iconic image are his suspenders, large glasses and vintage desk microphone which has been a part of every episode that saw the interview of about thousands of personalities including all the US presidents since Richard Nixon.

One of King’s statements in his announcement went this way, “With this chapter closing I’m looking forward to the future and what my next chapter will bring, but for now it’s time to hang up my nightly suspenders.”
