Some great composers, but Mc Cartney is not the sharpest business tool in shed. Evidence.... Michael Jackson & the fact he lost so much money waiting this long to license the music to a legitimate outlet. Allofmp3.com & bearshare,all the other peer2peer & preloaded ipods being sold stole from all of them big time.
MY friends all have complete Beatles on their mp3 players & computers. Cost probably nada. Whether it is right or wrong people will buy if it is easily available & steal more if it isnt.

The issue with the Michael Jackson thing goes back years to when Lennon/McCartney originally sold the publishing rights to Dick James, and then didn't/were'nt given the chance to buy them back once they became wealthy men. In the Michael Jackson case, it was simply that Paul couldn't raise the money to buy them. And don't forget, Apple (Corps) aren't stupid. The 40th anniversary of the release of Sgt. Pepper is next year (June 1, for those who are keeping track). AND...not so coincidentally, it's the 20th anniversary of the CD releases. There is a massive opportunity there, and I've been saying for some time that I expect the remastered, next-gen Beatles releases to coincide with this event. "It was 20 years ago today...", and all that.
The fact that Apple can continue to make heaps of money after 40 years on just the Beatles images/likenesses (remember, they don't own the publishing OR the master recordings), is amazing.

Here is what I suspect...
1) If no major case changes, a quiet introduction like today's iMac
2) If a major case and feature change, a "One More Thing"� next week...
3) Perhaps the reason for the delay in introduction is the Meroms are still constrained and Apple wanted them in the iMacs first.
Either way, I'm anticipating them to be introduced soon and I'll be in line as quickly as possible along with many here to buy one.

I wouldn't get the black. I had one, and it looked great fresh from the box, but looked old and tired 30 minutes later with grease marks all over it. Stick with the white as the smooth plastic finish doesn't show marks and is easier to clean.

That's a bit higher than I'd thought for the 24" model, I was thinking about $2599 but ah well.

I ordered a 20" iMac a couple of weeks ago, but it hadn't been dispatched yet (in fact, it was due to be dispatched today). The Apple order status site was down earlier, until just after the Apple Store came back up with the new iMacs, and lo and behold, my order has been replaced with a 20" iMac Core 2 Duo!
They've even upgraded the RAM to 2GB (I'd paid for an upgrade to 1GB on the original order), and dropped the price I pay!
So top marks to Apple - a brand new iMac, specced higher than the original, for �80 less! I don't know many other manufacturers that would do this - it's the kind of service that keeps Apple customers loyal.
The only downside is, I was expecting it to be delivered on Friday but now I have to wait until the 19th! But really, I don't mind!

I have 3 USB 1 ports and 2 FireWire ports. Does that mean if I buy a new 8Gb Nano, it won't work with my system? :(

I wanted a silver 8GB one. Now I'm torn :(
EDIT: Made up my mind. 4GB silver and the extra �40 in my pocket. Besides, silver'll look better in my Bose SoundDock :)

i figured out that maybe 4GB is good, because i have to load it in every 24 hour.. so at the same time i can change tracklist easily. i have 30 GB library so even 8GB wouldn't be enough for all my music.
i just can't see black ipod nano in same room with my powerbook and technics sl-1200 silver.

Now that Apple has consolidated the portable line on Intel C2D processors, the line between the pro and consumer models are diminished. Perhaps Apple should combine the two lines into one with 4 models across the line, employing an updated MB enclosure.

Why are you guys all against 3D? I think its great, BUT I think its a given that you will be able to turn off the 3D.. And if that is the case then there is no problem really :P

4 or 5 Sniper shots will destroy a tank. 2 or 3 if you are precise and can hit either the driver compartment, or the exhaust vent. Just FYI.
But also, you will only have to deal with that for a about another week. The October update to playlists and maps is coming next week, and the Tank is being swapped for a Wraith, along with a host of other fixes and tweaks that people have noticed in this first couple weeks of playing.

First, It's understandable to complain about the lack of EDU discounts on the new upods. Apple has ALWAYS given an edu discount... even for new products. To take that away now stinks.
Second, though these nanos look nice, I'm a little wary about the screen. If anyone remembers way back, that Apple is going to be using OLED technology instead of the normal screen.

As I eagerly await delivery of my first iPad, I know that I want an iPod that will only play music. When I am exercising, I don't want to receive phone calls or emails, I just want music, and I want a device that will hold all of my 12,145 songs, with room to grow.

I just bought a Macbook Pro literally 5 minutes ago. I've been waiting for months and I finally gave up. After the order was completed, I thought I'd check macrumors just for laughs and the first thing I saw was, "new macbook pros tomorrow?" :(
