Anne Hathaway is set to appear on “Glee,” show creator Ryan Murphy confirmed to Access Hollywood on Sunday.
Hathaway will reportedly play the long-lost lesbian aunt of Chris Colfer‘s character, Kurt. Murphy said it was only on Sunday during the Golden Globes that Hathaway’s guest appearance was confirmed. “She walked by our table and we have a mutual friend and I said, ‘Do you really want to do it?’ And she said, ‘I do.’ And I said, ‘OK, we’re gonna do it,” Murphy told Access Hollywood at the Fox post-Golden Globes party.
Hathaway has been vocal about her desire to appear on “Glee,” even revealing to Jimmy Fallon when she appeared on his show that she already had a role planned out for herself. ”I would wanna play Kurt’s long-lost aunt, his mother’s sister who is also gay, who comes back to help him deal with his sexuality, and I would sing, ‘You Are Not Alone’ from Stephen Sondheim’s epic show ‘Into the Woods,” she said back in November.
Colfer, who won a Golden Globe for his “Glee” role, said he is excited to work with Anne. “I’m so excited. I love her and I worship her.”
