U.S. Chart Roundup: Lady Gaga Redeems Herself After "Judas" With "The Edge Of Glory"

It's a second week for Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, and an eighth week at #1 for her sophomore album 21 on the Top 200 chart. Not only is 21 the only album to cross the million mark as far as copies of an LP sold this year, it's also getting closer to 2 million (right now it stands at 1.7 million since its late February release).

Elsewhere, Lady Gaga's "Judas" looks to be officially dead in the water. The song drops from #19 to #27 on this week's chart, while previous single  "Born This Way" slides still hangs in the Top 20 at #19. Of course, the good news is that "The Edge Of Glory" debuts at #3 and becomes her eighth single to crack the Top 5. Only "Paparazzi" (#6) and "Judas" (#10) charted lower.

And let's face it — while I liked "Judas" at first, it's kind of a dud when compared to some of the hotter tracks from Born This Way (like "Marry The Night" and "Electric Chapel"). That broad needs to step away from the bong and start making better single choices.

Enrique Iglesias' new single "Dirty Dancer" debuts one notch above "Born This Way," at #18 (credit his performance on last week's American Idol results show).

Meanwhile, the True Talent From Destiny's Child Kelly Rowland cracks the Top 30 with her Lil Wayne-assisted single "Motivation." It's at #26, while Beyonce's "Run The World (Girls)" continues its disastrous plummet, this week from #65 to #76.

Jordin Sparks also performed on Idol last week, and her new single "I Am Woman" debuts at #82. Enjoy it, darlin', because it's pretty much off to the stripper pole in Victorville once you're dropped from the label by Christmas.

U.S. Chart Roundup: Lady Gaga Is #1, And There Are Three "Fuck" Songs In The Top 10

Much has already been made of this week's milestone Billboard Hot 100 chart, so let's just recap:

* Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" has debuted at #1
* "Born This Way" is the 1000th single to top the Hot 100
* The first #1 on the Hot 100: Ricky Nelson's "Poor Little Fool," in 1958
* This is is Gaga's third single to top the Hot 100
* "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" were the other two
* "Born This Way" sold 448,000 downloads between last Friday and Sunday
* It's now the fourth-best debut sales week ever for a digital single
* It also marks the best opening sales week for a female artist
* It's the first #1 containing words "drag," "gay," "lesbian" & "transgendered"
* "Born This Way" is the 19th single to debut at #1

Billboard also points out another chart achievement this week: the cast of Glee has notched a grand total of 113 song entries on the Hot 100 to date, which now surpasses the record 108 by Elvis Presley.

That's great and all, but the publication clearly overlooked the MAIN triumph on the new chart: all three current hits with the word "fuck" in the title—Pink's "Fuckin' Perfect," Enrique Iglesias' "Tonight (I'm Fuckin' You)" and Cee Lo Green's "Fuck You"—are finally in the Top 10 together (now that Cee Lo's had a Grammys-fueled rebound).

And, even better, all three songs are stacked on top of each other at #5 through #7. So it's like they're—well, you know...

US Chart Roundup: Britney Plummets While The Fuck Songs Keep Climbing

Now that the frenzy over Britney Spears' new-ish single "Hold It Against Me" has blown over, the Dr. Luke/Max Martin dance-pop jam winds up being unable to sustain a lengthy stay at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and thus plunges to #6 like a scrawny one-eyed whore who just spotted a nickel on the ground in the alleyway behind Rite-Aid on a Sunday morning. This past weekend "Hold It Against Me" debuted at #6 on the UK chart.

Elsewhere, Enrique Iglesias' sex jam "Tonight (I'm Fuckin' You)" inches up to #4, matching the peak of his 2010 hit "I Like It." And just outside the Top 10, Pink's "Fuckin' Perfect" hops from #30 to #11 thanks to the premiere of the somewhat graphic music video.



I love it when inspirational songs have "fuck" in the title and blood on the wall.

Another chica who takes a tumble on the chart this week is Avril Lavigne, who's "What The Hell" drops from #13 to #31. I don't really know what else to say about that song other than it's paper-thin and simply not that memorable. Like, I never find myself thinking, I really need to hear that song...now!

On a final note, Adele's "Rolling In The Deep"—a #2 single in the UK this week—climbs from #97 to #84.

US Chart Roundup: Enrique Iglesias Keeps F***in' His Way Up The Ladder

It's strange to think that "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)" is only the fifth Top 10 U.S. hit for Enrique Iglesias since he first experienced mainstream pop crossover in 1999, but here we are. The single (naughty version: "Tonight (I'm Fuckin' You)") jumps from last week's position of #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 to #7, and gives the hot piece of Latin tail his second American smash in a row, following the #4-charting "I Like It."

So does it matter that Enrique had to totally sell his soul to the gods of Slutwave and basically become a male Ke$ha to start having hits again? Well, probably, but who's paying attention, anyway?

Meanwhile, Bruno Mars' "Grenade" is the new #1 single, after selling 559,000 downloads last week. Guess a lot of angsty kiddies with a pension for heartbreak got iTunes gift cards for Christmas? Billboard notes that "Grenade" experienced the third biggest sales week in paid digital download history (following records set by Flo Rida's "Right Round" in 2009 and Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" earlier this year.)

And I'll admit, I'm a little disheartened by the drop of Edward Maya's "Stereo Love" from #16 to #22, but maybe things will get sorted out once the holiday season passes.

U.S. Chart Roundup: Michael Jackson Lands His First Top 40 Hit In Eight Years

It's a quick roundup today, because D'luv's got some last-minute holiday shopping to do down at Hooker Central. And speaking of which, by now you've probably seen Enrique's Iglesias' raunchy video for "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)"? If not, watch here (and wear protection). The song itself climbs to #13 on this week's Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Just underneath Enrique in the video is a pile of strippers. But beneath Enrique on the chart, at #16, is Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina's "Stereo Love." At first I kind of dismissed this single as a useless trash, but I have to admit that it's hypnotized me at this point and made me love it. Well, okay—like it. When I decipher whatever the hell it is that broad is saying in the lyrics, then maybe I'll love it.

With "Hold My Hand" now up to #39, Michael Jackson lands his first Top 40 hit this week since "Butterflies" reached #14 in 2002. Over in the UK, EEEEEEEEEE-Heeeeeee!!!! fares even better, as "Hold My Hand" is currently at #10. I'm currently obsessed with "Monster" off Michael (which debuts at #3 on the Top 200 album chart) myself. It's pretty much my jam du jour.

Two notable debuts: Pink's Max Martin/Shellback-produced "Fuckin' Perfect" goes in at #86, making it the third song on the chart with the ultimate four-letter word in the title (after the naughty version of Enrique's "Tonight" and Cee Lo Green's Grammy nominated "Fuck You"). Meanwhile Mariah Carey's "Oh Santa!" finally crawls into the chart, at #100.

Enrique Iglesias Gambles With His Raunchy "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)" Video

The music video for the "classy" version of Enrique Iglesias' new jam "Tonight (I'm Fuckin' You)"—aka "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)"—has arrived, and the Latin stud gets up to some kinky shit in it.

Right off the bat he's looking all tortured at some strip club, where he throws one of the "entertainers" against the wall and begins groping her fishnets. Then the song fades out and we switch to Ludacris, who's in the back of a limo with a pack of broads listening to Shirley Temple. (I told you this shit was kinky.)

Finally, everyone ends up in Mexico, where they gamble then pile up for hot group sex in a hotel bed. Way to go, Enrique—it's really all about the craft and the art of the song with you, isn't it?

U.S. Chart Roundup: The Black Eyed Peas Sink, Duffy Flops And Enrique Keeps Fuckin'

Katy Perry's "Firework"—an enormously mediocre follow-up to "Teenage Dream"—is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 once again, thus breaking the weekly turnover we'd seen at the top of the chart over the prior six weeks. "Firework" is also the final #1 single the Hot 100 in 2010 (the new chart is dated December 25).

Meanwhile, thankfully the Black Eyed Peas' "The Time (Dirty Bit)"—a Chart Rigger 10 Worst Singles Of 2010 honoree—has begun to slide down the Top 10 (this week from #4 to #8). Their rushed, shit album The Beginning also takes a dive over on the Top 200, and drops from #6 to #16. Our UK friends weren't so lucky, however—"The Time" is currently the #1 single across the pond.

Speaking of our friends overseas and the album chart, two ladies from the United Kingdom fare rather poorly here in the States with their latest LPs. Duffy's sophomore effort Endlessly limps in at #72 like an aged prostitute after a skiing accident (and you know the type of poles I'm referring to, chyldryn) checking into the free clinic.

And then there's Natasha Bedingfield, whose third album Strip Me crashes and burns at #103 after the Ryan Tedder/Wayne Wilkins-produced title track that sounds exactly like Jordin Sparks' "Battlefield" failed to catch on at radio (although it does re-enter the Hot 100 this week at #91).

Poor Nat. She should just resort to selling naked photos of her brother's butt from the period when he was hot to people like me. I'd pay at least a dollar for that shit!

Back on the Hot 100, two dance jams begin to inch their way toward the upper reaches of the chart: Enrique Iglesias' "Tonight (I'm Fuckin' You)" moves from #20 to #15, while Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina's "Stereo Love" is up from #24 to #19.

Finally, Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" debuts at #68. So there, Duffy.

U.S. Chart Roundup: Raise Your Glass To Pink, Who Has Her Third #1 Single

I'm immensely happy to see Pink's "Raise Your Glass" make its way to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Who knew that this broad would still be around all these years later, while the rest of her fellow "Lady Marmalade" singers would fall over into the dumpster, one-by-one?

And, yes—I usually try to avoid mention "Lady Marmalade" in relation to Pink's chart achievements, but in this case I'm doin' it, since it was her first of three #1 singles over the past nine years (the second being "So What" in 2008).

Over on the Top 200 chart, Pink's Greatest Hits...So Far!!! falls from #14 to #29. (Though that's not as disastrous as Nelly's drop from #10 to #39 with 5.0.)

Also loving the rapid succession of #1 singles on the Hot 100 lately. It's especially gratifying, since when I started this blog, it was in the days of some rap song topping the chart for six-to-10 week stretches at a time.

Anyway, Enrique Iglesias' trashy new club jam "Tonight (I'm Fuckin' You)" debuts at #18 this week (albeit in it's clean "I'm Lovin' You" form). It's a real Renaissance for the hottest piece of tail in pop, considering he now has two Top 20 singles under his naughty belt in 2010. Previously, his last Top 20 hit was "Escape," which reached #12 in 2002.

Meanwhile, just as "We No Speak Americano" slides out of the Top 40, another dance jam from overseas—Edward Maya's "Stereo Love"—continues to make gains. The tune previously reached #4 on the UK chart back in May, and this week climbs to #26 here in the States.



Other trash: Michael Jackson and Akon's "Hold My Hand" jumps from #84 to #50, Christina Aguilera's "Show Me How You Burlesque" debuts at #70 and David Guetta and Rihanna's "Who's That Chick" enters at #73.

Enrique Iglesias Has A "Fuck" Song Now, Too

Now that Cee Lo Green has kicked open the door to having the word "fuck" be an acceptable term in a pop song (hey—even Glee saw "Fuck You" fit enough to cover last week, albeit in the clean "Forget You" form), Enrique Iglesias isn't wasting any time in releasing his own naughty jam "Tonight (I'm Fuckin' You." Way to stay classy, Enrique!

Of course, Akon sort of pioneered the modern-day fuck trail with his 2006 U.S. chart-topper "I Wanna Fuck You" (again, in its cleaned-up form, "I Wanna Love You"). But we expect that sort of fuckery from Akon, no?

And like with Enrique's comeback hit "I Like It," he's playing it safe by featuring a rapper on his new single—in this case, go-to MC Ludacris.

So will the DJ Frank E-assisted "Tonight (I'm Fuckin' You)" be a "Fuck You"/"Forget You"-sized hit? The dirty version is already at #21 on iTunes after being released yesterday, while clean version "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)" is at #48.

UK Chart: OMD Return + Bruno Mars Should Really Do Lines More Often

Bruno Mars should really just go slap down some cash for a giant bucket of coke and snort the shit like it's going out of style every time he throws a new record out. Because his Las Vegas arrest last Sunday for drug possession has led to his debut solo single "Just The Way You Are" topping both the U.S. and UK charts this week.

The rest of the Brit tally is a bit quiet, with minor blips coming in from Enrique Iglesias and Nicole Scherzinger's "Heartbeat" (#13), Glee Season 2 star Charice's "Pyramid" (#17), Mark Ronson & The Business Intl's "The Bike Song" (#21) and The Saturdays' "Higher" (#22).

Over on the UK album chart, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark return after 14 years with History Of Modern (peek at my snazzy non-review), which enters at #28. The synth band's last studio album Universal hit #24 back in 1996, while the compilation The OMD Singles peaked at #16 in 1998.

Enrique Iglesias Whips Off His Shirt For His "Heartbeat" Video

Yes, yes—Enrique Iglesias and Nicole Scherzinger's "Heartbeat" video leaked last week. But it officially premiered today, which means I can finally post it and not have to worry that the damn thing is going to get yanked off YouTube every five minutes by Interscope.

I must admit, I like this jam. It's produced by longtime Enrique collaborator Mark Taylor—aka Metro. Well, one of Metro. (What ever happened to the rest of those guys?)

Even Scherzinger is tolerable here. Though naturally she has to strip down to frilly panties for that mirrored room sequence. SPEAKING OF WHICH: didn't we see that same mirrored room in Alex Gardner's "I'm Not Mad" video?

Enrique Iglesias ft. Nicole Scherzinger “Heartbeat” Music Video

Enrique Iglesias, the Spanish pop singer-songwriter, and Nicole Scherzinger, the Pussycat Dolls lead singer, has teamed up for a new song "Heartbeat", the second English single from Iglesias’s upcoming bilingual album Euphoria which features both English and Spanish songs. 

Here is the just-released music video for the duet and both Enrique and Nicole looked so $exy and gorgeous in it!

Max Martin Makes Me Feel Like I'm Living A Teenage Dream

This literally has to be be Max Martin's most prolific time period, hit-wise, since 1999/2000, no? In glancing over the current Billboard Hot 100 chart, the Swedish songwriter-producer has zillion-dollar hands all over the following:

I totally forgot to mention that "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" entered the Hot 100 at #19 last week—forgive me, I was still blinded by thoughts of Enrique Iglesias losing his pants. (And congrats to him for "I Like It" moving up to #6, thereby breaking the rut of the dreaded #8 that so often plagues pop stars.)

I have to say, hearing "Dynamite," "Teenage Dream" and "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" on the radio on a daily basis just makes me smile. And P.S., Max—I know you're notoriously press-shy, but get some new headshots already! We've all been using the same ones (plus the above frowny pic of you) for half a decade now.

Let's face it—until Enrique Iglesias gives it up and fulfills that promise to water ski in the buff now that Spain won the World Cup, "I Like It" is never gonna move into the upper reaches of the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. This week the single spends a second week at #8. C'mon, Enrique—drop those pants and make the world scream bailamos already!



Alright, on to the real news. Eminem and Rihanna's "Love The Way You Lie" has finally knocked Katy Perry's "California Gurls" off the top of the chart. Both songs are completely saturating radio right now, so it's kind of like choosing between death by firing squad rather than death by having a grenade shoved in your mouth like a ball gag—something Katy Perry is probably really up on.

Further down the Hot 100, Adam Lambert's "If I Had You" inches up to #69. Hey, at least now it's bested the #72 peak of his version of "No Boundaries," right?

Sigh. And as expected, the party couldn't last forever for Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite here in the U.S. without a hit single or some promo appearances to support it. This week the LP drops from its debut position of #19 to #89 on the Top 200 Albums chart.

But on an upbeat note, Kylie's "All The Lovers" is the week's greatest gainer on the Dance/Club Play Songs chart, where it jumps up to #4.

Enrique Iglesias' "I Like It" Would Go To #1 If He'd Take His Pants Off

Other than yesterday's news that Kylie Minogue racked up her first U.S. Top 20 album in eight years with Aphrodite, it's a pretty snoozy chart week.

Most noteworthy is Enrique Iglesias, whose "I Like It" climbs to #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. It's only his fourth single to crack the Top 10 in the U.S., and his highest charting song since 2001, when "Hero" reached #3. I just kind of wish he didn't have to sell his soul to Pitbull and Jersey Shore to do it.

All that said, I liked that song about ping pong a lot better. Why couldn't that have become a big hit here? Enrique's album Euphoria debuted at #10 over on the Top 200 this week.

On the lower end, Adam Lambert's "If I Had You" moves up 12 notches to #73. It's been a month since the music video premiered. Here's hoping the single ends up being a slow burner like "Whataya Want From Me," and eventually climbs to a decent position.
